GET LUCKY WITH ELVIS COSTELLO
Press release
If you’re an Elvis Costello fan (and what discerning listener amongst us is not?) you no doubt already consider yourself on a winning streak with news of Elvis’ latest Warner Bros. Records release, Elvis Costello’s Kojak Variety. A collection of ringing renditions of some of the acclaimed artist’s all-time favorite songs. Elvis Costello’s Kojak Variety is enough to make any true believer’s day.
But hold on, there’s more! That’s right, 125 lucky consumers will be purchasing a very special limited edition of Elvis Costello’s Kojak Variety, distributed randomly through retail outlets across the country. The limited-issue, numbered collector’s edition of Elvis Costello’s Kojak Variety features two additional tracks: “Step Inside Love” a Paul McCartney song originally written for Cilla Black and released as a single in March of 1968 and “Sticks And Stones,” first recorded by Ray Charles in 1960. Both Elvis Costello versions were originally released as “B” sides in the UK.
With packaging identical to the standard Kojak Variety compact disc – which features material originally recorded by Screaming Jay Hawkins, Bob Dylan, Little Richard, Mose Allison, James Carr and others – this unique limited edition includes a special insert informing the lucky 125 of their incredible good fortune.
