But there is real melody here, some real forceful guitat strumming and his revised "Tramp the Dirt Down" that went taboo after the ''Late Show'' pulled a cheer almost as loud as those for the numerous encores. Rude 5 were shockingly polite.

Hmm. An Elvis Costello concert. Count the number of bald heads and receding hairlines. Does it say something about the age of the audience? I think so.

Not that Elvis himself is deficient in the hair department, facial or otherwise. Appearing as a vision in long shaggy hair and shades, Elvis pulled off a miracle in holding this somewhat reluctant reviewer spellbound in a two hour set. Considering I knew only four of the songs (and one of them was the G.B.H. theme tune) this is no mean feat.
