Re: Elvis and the Imposters Cincinnati May 16, 2011
Yeah, it's in my range, I went to Ohio in 2005 and 2009 for shows, but I'm already booked for Chicago and Philly as well as NYC so I think that'll do for now...bronxapostle wrote:is CINCY in your "road trip" range FAVEDAVE??? He played the Taft in 2002 I think, but he doesn't play Cincinnati that often...

Twitter pics reveal some new songs on the wheel tonight: "Human Hands," "American Without Tears," "Sulphur To Sugarcane," and "Roses" (presumably as in "Good Year For The..."). There's also a "Model" jackpot, and spots for "Hank" and "Harlan".

According to the Wiki, Harlan Howard wrote Busted and Heartaches By The Number. There's also a "Model" jackpot, and spots for "Hank" and "Harlan".
Hank Williams wrote at least six songs that EC has performed, including Why Don't You Love Me (Like You Used To Do) that he performed recently with The Secret Sisters.

HOLY FUCK! SUBSTITUTE?!
There better be a recording of this.
Harlan Howard is one of the great country songsmiths of the 20th Century. Personally, I'm hoping it will cause Elvis to regale the crowd with a rendition of the Howard/Lauderdale tune You'll Know When It's Right.

The setlist on Elvis Costello.com suggests that the performance of Chelsea included some (or all) of Cincinnati Fatback. This is not a song I was familiar with, but a version of it by Roogalator (released on Stiff Records) can be found here:

Clearly it was posted by someone who cannot spell Cincinnati.
Can anyone confirm or deny the inclusion of some or all of this song in the Cincinnati show? It may just be an instrumental portion, but I can see how it would fit with Chelsea.

"Harlan" replaced "Pump It Up in 6/8" on the wheel. Since the latter was a medley of "Pump It Up" and "Busted," it's possible a "Harlan" spin could result in an identical performance.Man out of Time wrote:According to the Wiki, Harlan Howard wrote Busted and Heartaches By The Number.
Hank (Henry) and Harlan are also the middle names of EC's younger sons (Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlan James).

Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Weak. Guys like this should be avoided. Sadly, I know dudes who think like this and they are worthless in bed. They are not worth any girl's time (unless there is a lull in sack action... then it's better then nothing at all.)johnfoyle wrote:Elvis' site links this outspoken review-

Urr... sorry about the last comment/post, John F. It's not directed to you at all... Serious Elvis fans are excluded!
Re: Elvis and the Imposters Cincinnati May 16, 2011
No offense taken Mojo! My 'indeed' was more directed at the outlandishness of the comment.
Re: Elvis and the Imposters Cincinnati May 16, 2011
Just having a bit of fun with it, too. Seriously, though I know guys who think like this. Strange, indeed!
Re: Elvis and the Imposters Cincinnati May 16, 2011
Surely this guy was just kidding and trying to make a point. . . I hope.
