The "Dearest darling..." bit on Accidents Will Happen

Post by Farmed Horses »

On the VH1 performance of AWH, EC speaks about them playing the early arrangement of this song. Was it originally played with the "Dearest darling..." segment? Is that how it's heard on the new Hollywood High album? Why did this bit get dropped?

Right... Those are lines from Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Twenty Four Hours From Tulsa."

I'm not aware of EC including those lines before 1985, and he only did it regularly in 1998-1999, at the time he was working with Burt.

When EC talks of arrangement he is not referring to the lyric but the music as first concieved.

So is the '24 Hours...' bit on the Hollywood High version or not?
