An article on the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival apparently reveals the title to Elvis Costello's new T-Bone Burnett produced album: PERFECT SECRETS.

ELVIS COSTELLO'S HIGH WHINES AND SPIRITS: In a country mood, Costello will be joined by an informal group including guitarist Bill Kirchen, fiddler Fats Kaplin and keyboardist Audie de Lone. Expect guest appearances from Jim Lauderdale and Emmylou Harris, and don't be too surprised if T Bone Burnett joins Elvis to try out material from their forthcoming album, "Perfect Secrets," featuring many of the same musicians.

That's a great title. Memorable - I'm hoping this is the smash Elvis deserves - but obviously not putting any money on it!

On the official website, Elvis or his people quote the article that notes the album title and says "No such record exists or is scheduled at present".

Yeah, that's the official word.

It wouldn't surprise me though if the real album title is not Perfect Secrets. That just sounds a little suspect and possibly a ruse by the two Cowards to raise interest in the upcoming release without giving away too much information on its "top secret" content. Perhaps the album's true title is a perfect secret.

The record doesn't exist (yet) but we have pretty firm proof that it has been recorded.

I have no interest in the title name, I just need the music transferred to my ears - STAT and POST HASTE! Perhaps, I'll get a little sample this weekend at HSB. Hopefully the weather will hold up. We have something of what feels like a little bit of a pineapple express going on. Rain is in the forecast.

Listening to Elvis' Sept. 27 performance of 'Down Among The Wine & Spirits' I detect indications of what the , probable, version on the new album will be like. As in the Spectacle performance he includes all the lines that he customised to the different venues on the Dylan tour. He also , pointedly, tries to replicate a kazoo solo. So the album version will , it seems , feature a kazoo. Excellent!

A whisper from way into the 2nd quarter of next year is a title from Elvis Costello (The Secret, The Profane, and Sugar Cane). It is currently scheduled for a May release.

Elvis Costello Teams with HearMusic for 'Profane' Collection

Elvis Costello has teamed with the HearMusic label for the release of his new "The Secret, The Profane and the Sugar Cane", scheduled to hit the streets June 9. Details are sketchy at the moment, but stay tuned for further details.

Elvis was most recently represented last May with the rather hurried release of "Momofuku", his collection of random, seat-of-the-pants songs with his band The Attractions. Meanwhile, Costello has stayed in the media spotlight with his ongoing SUNDANCE interview show "Spectacle" and recent appearances on albums from Fall Out Boy and Jenny Lewis.
