The way Elvis sings Daddy Can I Turn This?

Post by John »

Four times at the end of this song he seems (to my ears anyway) to sing "Daddy, Daddy, Jaddy, Jaddy, Jadder". What's that all about?

He also also seems to sing Daddy Can I Turn Dis? on some but not all the Daddy Can I Hear This? lines.

Do I need my ears testing or do you agree?

It's called poor diction. It's the curse of many a great rock and roll singer.

I definitely have to agree that Elvis is purposely singing Jaddy, Jaddy, etc...

What it is supposed to mean is totally beyond me, though.

This seems like a half way good reason to highlight my post about the origin of this song -
