Shameless Self Promotion, Vol 2

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Shameless Self Promotion, Vol 2

Post by RedShoes »

Over the last two months, Noiseradio, BlueChair, El Vez, Spooky, and I (along with the non-EC forum BT staff...yes, there are some of those, too) have been immersed in a massive redesign of Being There. Now that we've finally posted our new issue, we want you all to check it out:

http://www.beingtheremag.com

There are probably still a few kinks to be ironed out, and the back issues still need to be uploaded, but we're quite proud of what we've done. So check it out. And if you have any feedback, please let us know. We're always looking for ways to improve ourselves.

And hey, while you're at it - buy some BT swag!!!!! http://www.cafepress.com/beingtheremag or by clicking on the Merch button at the top of the site. There will be many more shirts to be added soon, but there's a start at least.

I particularly like the Richard Swift review. We've got some damn good freelancers!

The new design works really and navigability is good. My only comment would be that serif fonts such as the one you are using for your main body text are harder to read on screen in general than sans serif ones. Verdana is a very good one for screen reading (it's probably the one you're reading this in, or something very close). I have to whack up the size of it a couple of times to make it comfortable on the eye, and even then it isn't quite right. Screen readibility is very different to print in this respect. my tuppence' worth!

Yeah great stuff :o
Preacher was a talkin' there's a sermon he gave,
He said every man's conscience is vile and depraved,
You cannot depend on it to be your guide
When it's you who must keep it satisfied

Good job, congrats.

WWS you're mighty knowledgeable man. Since you mention Tom Waits I'd like to ask something. It's about his song "Temptation", I love this kind of music. What would be the influences in it ?
