London Meet Up - Friday December 9th

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

So far it is

VG

verena

BWAP

with a good possibility that So Lack will be there.

Can anyone else join us?

Time and venue to be determined.

So Lack is having computer woes - I'm confident he'll attend.

Transatlantic flights aren't that expensive...

'Boo or Tim(e) or Idle Hands or even MBA should also fly in, to make this a proper global meet-up.

As always I have a number of excuses. However, I'm trying to get some work in London on the 9th in order to justify sinking a few on the way home.....I don't need to tell you not to rely on me though!

I'm looking at taking the afternoon off that day. Anybody else fancy meeting up early?

WSS and verena - what will your arrangements be?

Jackson - careful what you say - at some stage there may be a list of Jackson's top 10 excuses

I could meet up in the late afternoon somewhere. Busy until about 3:30 or 4, but probably free after that.

I'm staying at the Hilton Kensington I think.

Swanky!

'Bump' = 'post on thread purely to send it back up to top of list'

I doubt I'll get down before about 7. We shall see. Looks like I'll have a major deadline to meet Wed of that week, in which case I'll be due an early departure come Fri and a bevy of bevvies.

Albert

Verbal : Friday afternoon = can.

WWS : I shall also be staying in Kensington, with my friends. Close to the Royal Albert Hall, I remember because it's the bus stop (pretty good line actually).

Ot. : thanks (and what about Martha in Paris, did you reconsider ?).

No reconsidering to do, I'm afraid. Sounds like a killer night out, but too far from here. I did, however, have the realisation that 'Verena' is a slightly changed only anagram of 'Venerea', the esteemed King Hoarse's hoarse-making band. I therefore throw down the gauntlet and accuse you of being King H masquerarding as a Parisian dame when you are really a bass-toting throat-shredding Swedish punkster. All will be revelased on Dec 9.

Damn, I must be ill, mistakenly added an 'e' to 'Verena'. OK, so you're a French woman. Nothing will be revealed...

Number three in a regular series of bumps.

As people will be coming from various places I suggest we meet at The Coal Hole pub in the Strand again as it is a readiliy accessible place to get to for everyone. Shall we say 3.30pm onwards?

So far those attending are

VG
BWAP (I assume with his new housemate SoLack)
Otis
WSS
verena and
SulkyLad (my EC mate).

I PM'd DrJ a while ago but he's not picked the message up.

Jackson - any chance of you making it? If not, just send me a cheque/cash and I'll get the drinks in on your behalf.

Anybody else reading this who can make it is more than welcome to join us.

I'm going to spend the rest of the day wishing Verbal's Angels (MDM, Spooky and Muggy) could be there.

Whatever happened to DrJ? I remember him posting a review of that outdoor show EC did in North London last summer, but he's been absent since.

I'll be there as soon after 3:30 as I can manage. I get the feeling I'm going to have to pace my boozing. I'll be sure to have a large bottle of water and aspirin at the ready in my hotel room to stave off the inevitable Saturday hangover.

I'm supposed to meet a friend for a pint or two before the Chelsea match on Saturday, then I'm going out to dinner with him and his wife at this carnivore's paradise after the match (do you know anything about it)?:
