So your saying those $500 a piece tickets I just bought on ebay for Elvis Costello/Justin Timberlake New Years Eve live in Peoria are no good?

Absolutely, Elvis and Diana are doing a duets show backed by a mariachi band this New Years Eve at the Sugar Club, Leeson St, Dublin. No cover charge.

Well, I have tickets to bring in the new year in the Sugar club, so I'll let you know of he turns up.

Hmmm. In town last night, trying to open the car door, I saw a figure come towards me who looked familiar. If it hadn't been for this thread, I wouldn't have thought about it but I said "You're Steve Nieve" and he went "yes" and I said something banal like "you're great" and off he went. I had GH!! on in the car, but resisted driving by with it blasting out the windows.

The person who I was with was amused by me meeting the professor. Their take on meeting someone famous was that you shouldn't say anything. I think that if you see someone famous, if the co-ordinates of their life meet with yours, you have to say 'hi' and break the famous/non-famous interface.

It was funny tho'.

Dr J Makes Steves Day !
I asked Steve on his site message board about his Dublin trip and got a reply.

How was your Dublin trip? Dr J on the Costello Fan Forum said he spotted you and exchanged greetings ( he was getting out of his car - Get Happy! was playing!) - sometime on New Years Eve , I think. At least you guys were out and about - I took one look at the rain `n cold and stayed in and watched the telly , saddo that I am.

John Foyle , Dublin.

Hey John, I didn't realise you are a Dubliner. The highlight for me had to be the 40 foot meeting, new years day, cold but extreemely refreshing once you had taken the plunge, and a visit to see Bacon`s atelier, not as messy as the studio here. Oh yes and getting spotted by Dr J. Actually the weather was much better than it is here. Great place to see the new year in........

The `40 Foot` is a seaside swimming place . The really tough men usually swim naked ....not a pretty sight I can tell you! .

Coincidentally Elvis did some WIWC promo photos there ;

` Bacon`s atelier` is Francis Bacon`s studio , transported and recreated in all it`s astonishing mess in a museum here in Dublin.
