Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

Cool for Elvis, but goddam, that audience looks lost and bored from the one video clip. I don't think 90% of them even know the song Pump it Up, and who is this guy who wandered into our, ---I know 2 Billy Jole songs and I love them both, audience---. oh yeah, Allentown, i vaguely recall that song. Depressing.

Shoot me if I ever attend a large venue concert again. I don't care who Billy Joel invites onstage, even our hero can't redeem that shit. I feel like I was back at Fiserv Forum trying to appreciate Peter Gabriels dancing.

Naysayers be damned, it was a wonderful surprise to those of us actually in attendance.

I agree 100%... wish I was there of course and glad you were Charles. Not a tremendous Billy fan myself in any recent years...but his mid 70s output was exceptional. TURNSTILES is my fave. 1983 was funny when EC opened the CLOCKING IN ACROSS AMERICA tour in Allentown, PA. I thought it a poke at Billy as that song was just released I think. Great to see this unforeseen pairing. Never saw it coming, yet it hit the mark. As did you regarding the naysayers. GREAT CLEAN FUN and exceptional to see this odd couple forty years since. Thank the Lord for cell phones. Best wishes all....ba

Elvis sings 80s Joel. Never thought it would happen. Hot. What a great surprise to everyone at the concert. Wish I was there. Happy holidays

During the 1984 solo tour, EC would introduce Motel Matches (while at the keyboard) with the quip "This is a Billy Joel song. It's called Just The Way You Are."

I guess he's mellowed with age?

I think the joke there was that "Motel Matches" includes a line about "An Innocent Man," also the title of Billy Joel's then-recent hit.
