Yeah, Bob's version of "Yesterday" is pretty humorous. Even more amusing is the fact that he recorded it with George Harrison during the same New Morning session that yielded that wonderful alternate "If Not For You" on Bootleg Series Vol. 1-3
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Wow, I didn't know that - I was wondering to whom the second voice belonged.

I confess to not havung found the time to check out any of the above, and there are probably some great sites there, but can any top this?

http://hype.non-standard.net/about

This strikes me as amazing. I was looking for an MP3 of the original Moby Grape song I Am Not Willing, a totally fantastic cover of which graces the new Lloyd LP, and came across this site, which contains it, together with blog discussion. (Original is great - any MG fans here, and I don't just mean Mechanical Grace here!) From a couple of searches, I'm utterly impressed. For example, read IP's post on new Damien Rice single, so found that in seconds, and then it plays it, and proceeds to play loads of other songs from the Damien list, which numbers 57! (Right now a rather lovely cover of When Doves Cry!) So if people here are raving about something, chances are you will find it here, e.g. Josef K. MP3s are full songs, and perfect quality.

What's more, it contains You Tube links (bollocks, there are some Josef K ones!!! - have never seen any footage of them and hadn't thought they'd have any on You Tube!), live concert news links, blog links, etc, etc. Very clear and nicely designed.

Quite stunning.

Glad to be of use. Am I the first to go there? It's great the way you load up a song and it then plays the others listed by the same artist, so you can just listen away...

Yep, that's a great site. I've been pretty regularly visiting it for a few months now.
As Otis says, every mp3 shown has got a link to a relevant blog, where you can also download the mp3.
You can search for music by artists, songs, blogs or just visit the site which seems to be updated every hour.

The musical stylings of Leonard Nimoy. Check out "Proud Mary" and "Everybody's Talking" on page six - the word "painful" doesn't begin to describe it.

Dig that groooovy organ! I like "Put A Little Love In Your Heart".

Incidentally it also has a snippet of the theme for Dark Shadows, which this claims he wrote, but the song doesn't sound at all familiar. I can't remember what I THOUGHT it sounded like, but I saw the opening credits to that show (if not more of it) hundreds of times and I have no recollection of that tune...

Addendum: I see now it wasn't Nimoy who wrote that but his collaborator. Still doesn't sound familiar, however...

IP, have you found a way to systematically determine which posts actually offer downloads as opposed to just a listen? Seems very needle-in-a-haystack to me. But then, I can be somewhat thick.

I think you pretty much have to follow the link and see MG. Its pretty hit and miss , yes, as some blogs take their MP3's down after a few weeks, but Ive found some real gold!

Petra Haden's gorgeous version of 'God Only Knows' can be downloaded here:

http://www.petrahadenmusic.com/sounds.html

The song was recorded entirely with Haden's voice, multi-tracked several times over. Her version of "Thriller" (also all voices) is also pretty cool.
