lord that awful silence.

here is the problem: sex. yer not havin' enough sex. sex sex sex, that's what it's about. why, if i was in a home biz wit me wife from 10-6 i'd be bankrupt. other than that, you shouldn't be doing all that shit. what the hell are you serving him breakfast in bed for? on a workday? you are conditioning him to expect too much. he has to do half the shit most of the time, it's the 21st century. i have to do half the shit most of the time, so so should he. the bastard. there are snowballs in hell, ask that guy who just died in oregon, so you gotta fix this. "eyes on the prize" as a friend of mine says. so talk about it and get over it. share your feelings along with sharing all the other shit. or have sex. or throw him out if he's too selfish. it's shape up, get up, or get out. maybe 2 of the 3.

Sometimes you just have to say you're sorry when you really aren't....at least that's my approach - though it sounds like if I changed my philosophy I might get a day or two of silence - very tempted.

Oily's right about the sex - not enough sex breeds crankiness.

In unrelated news, my wife was asking me what I wanted for Christmas - and I told her I thought it might be nice for her to get me two tickets for the Chelsea v Fulham match on the 30th. (I of course would have to buy them to give to her to give to me). So, I then set her up perfectly - I said "Do you want to go to Chelsea?" - she, predictably, blew the response.

My skin is so dry, while my nose is, paradoxically, so runny.

1. Not those kinds of electrical goods!

2. No point in saying sorry if you are not - it doesnt solve the problem!

3. No crankiness here for that reason im pleased to say! - only at the moment of course!!

Day 5 and we have resumed polite conversation only when necessary. He still says he did nothing wrong and so do I! Did I mention he is as stubborn as a mule as well as a pig - he is an ANIMAL!!!!

it is getting a bit boring. maybe you could give a detailed description of the make-up fuck when it happens, that might liven it up a bit.

Boring people are easily bored, I find.

Gilli, I can't believe he sees nothing wrong with that. Next he'll be weilding a club and dragging you around by the hair.

Maybe not, but don't you get tired of being angry? It's a huge expenditure of energy that could perhaps be better spent on something else, like having sex, say.

Monday night I finally finished at 7pm I was exhausted after 9 solid hours flat out! - he had packed up at 6.30pm. I said im too tired to start cooking now you will have to make yourself a sandwich or something and he went mental banging on about how he was looking forward to his tea ! I had said I was going to cook a steak casserole but I didnt physically get the time! He was really nasty and abusive and to top it all threw in a few insults for good measure then he stormed off and made himself a sandwich - nothing for me and sat down! Needless to say all hell broke loose!

For the first time, I am going to try to assemble my bookcase by myself instead of conning a boy into doing it for me. (They always get mad when I tell them how wrong they're doing it!)

And I did it! Not very hard after all, despite the bothersome unevenness of the floor.

It's 5' by 5'--I had to assemble it on its side and then swing it up.

Ah yes, that makes a lot of sense. It wouldn't have surprised me though if you did have a massive bookcase (for which the evenness of the floor would have mattered in an upright position), and that you'd think that it wasn't that hard at all to assemble.

Ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! That's a good one.

I've installed shelving and blinds, and even put up drywall, but lemme tell ya some of those Ikea projects need two people, if merely because of size.

I once spent an entire evening trying to assemble what is known as a Welsh Dresser in these parts. Of course one should get a proper class one that's been well-tended in a farmhouse for 100 years+, but we went to IKEA. I spent about an hours nailing the back on, tons of small tacks, and they seemed to be going in very easily, and then when I lifted it up the entire back slid off. Turned out the nails were going through the back into air! Certainly not idiotproof...

Yeah - they do if you are prepared to wait an hour for it to turn up, so it would have been 8pm - far too late and we were starving - We hadnt had time to grab a sandwich lunchtime while we worked.

What a horrible story. And there's Howard's End, too. I am very brave!

In other random news, I saw West Side Story (one of my all-time favorite movies) on the big screen at MoMA today. Fantastic. It made me so happy! And I brought a special friend who'd never seen it before, and he loved it too, which also made me happy.

How special a friend, MBA?

Gilli, I read a magazine article that posed the same question G2S did: is it better to be right than ???? I forgot what the ???? was, so obviously, being right IS more important. I do hope you two have made up now, tho!
