The you-like-THAT-song-by-that-artist game

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Down In Texas (technically Hour Glass - pre Allman Brothers Band with Duane and Gregg still and it's on the box set).

Willing. I think it's written by the guy that Lucinda sings about in Drunken Angel. Anyway, to make a long story, I commuted to the U of TN with my friend Zeke (whose actual name was Ed, but that's a different story) in my '73 VW bug. We had 2 8-tracks to entertain us: Linda's Greatest Hits (or something) that had Willing on it, as well as I Can't Help It, and the first George Thorogood and the Destroyers. They were probably still the Delaware Destroyers back then, but I hate New England. Forever. Anyway, we knew every song by heart by the time he graduated and at his graduation party, we sang this song. Beats the hell out of You're No Good.

Three Dog Night.

Deleware isn't in New England. I once had a '73 bug - it wasn't really red and it wasn't really orange - somewhere inbetween. The first two Thorogood records are absolutely killer.

I saw Three Dog Night (minus the head dog guy) at a "private" function a few years ago. I gotta go with Eli's Coming (which they did not play).

Never Understand - Jesus and Mary Chain. Bought it on 7" back in 85 and used to scare people who came round to my house by playing it. At the time it sounded like nothing else around!

We let this one languish a little too long so here we go again. . .

Solar Sex Panel - Little Village was a great super group but made only a mediocre album in which this was one of the better tracks. Love the humorous John Hiatt vocal.

Trying to kill it again there, migdd?

Best of Both Worlds (a/k/a the HM theme song), because it's the only one I know. She really has an annoying voice.

I have to say that I like John Wesley Harding's version even better.

Here Comes the Groom - a great song and still my favorite JWH album. The rythm section is Bruce and Pete from the Attractions.

"Bad Reputation," largely because of its use as the theme song of Judd Apatow's underrated TV series Freaks & Geeks

Landslide - a great song that sounds like it really means something, whether it really does or not. A personal favorite because it has a meaning for me. (Got all that??!! )

Definitely. I have a FMac bootleg (New Haven, 1975) where that and Rhiannon played back to back make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, plus Stevie Nicks reminds me of someone I know. I always thought she was pretty cool since I saw a tv interview with her once. Only problem now is, i don't know much about Lindsay Buckingham's work... but if Landslide can qualify as a SN song then Big Love can for LB.
