Fun with board members

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

laughingcrow, not that I mind being Ginny Weasley, but those all seem fairly random. And didn't you read The Order of Phoenix? Harry and Cho

--spoiler--

end up not being very interested in each other at all, remember the scene on the train?

Good! (Though I now distrust, partly, your loyalty to our great nation...sure you don't have secret arms deals with Saddam?)

Re: Jerry...His sixties films (aside from "The Nutty Professor") tend to get so universally trashed, but I agree that -- properly controlled, he can ge great.

BTW -- did you see/hear him on "The Simpsons" last night? He was doing the voice of -- what else, Prof. Frink's dad.

"Flavin" anyone?

I actually did notice Jerry Lewis' name at the end of the credits last night. I've tried to teach the kids that one of the most interesting things about the show is seeing the credits - they always manage to snag a great guest or band of some kind.

Yeah, that was great on The Simpsons.

I like when guest voices are there for a good reason, unlike Jennifer Garner who served absolutely no purpose.

Pip --

Sometimes the IMDB gets a little weird about Asian names. For example, if you enter "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", you'll get the Mandarin title and possibly think it's a computer glitch...if you're lucky! They always use the Asian names first. In the case of Hong Kong people -- who often use an Asian name along with a more anglicized type name, it can be really confusing. (For example, there are at least two big HK movie stars named "Tony Leung.") Also, it's possible I misspelled Mr. Hark's (or is it Mr. Tsui's? -- pronounced "Choy" btw) name.

Anyhow, he's way cool. Produced and/or possibly directed (often vague with him, for some reason) some of my all time favorite Hong Kong movies, particularly the very wonderful "A Chinese Ghost Story" and "Peking Opera Blues" as well as lots of films with Jet Li and producing for John Woo earlyon. His older films have this good natured spirit of adventure that just felt right, somehow.

You may, at will, question my loyalty to this country. But not to the Simpsons.

Family Guy is fantastic. I will always have a closer place in my heart for The Simpsons, but Family Guy is a little more adventurous.

Just catching up on this thread...(I love it by the way)

Apparently I'm:

Sean William Scott (Still pissed about that El Vez)
Zeus
Steve Earle (Okay, you almost made up for the other one El...but I think this is more due to height/build than anything else)

Tom Jones (ladies, I'm always accepting knickers)
J.D. Salinger (recluse...I'm trying to change that)
Wizard (I do hide behind curtains...but let's not get into that)

Yeah...I kind of chose to ignore that one as I see myself much more in the Hawkeye role...or Sophie the horse, either works... :D
