A Town Called Nothing
A Town Called Nothing
Hi. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about this Blood and Chocolate outtake - ie, is it any good, any kind of info, etc
I'm only curious because (as you probably all know) the track was left off the latest reissue of B&C, and I'm just wondering if it's worth me getting the older cd reissue of the album just for the sake of owning this song.
Any info would be muchly appreciated

...the cost of living in sin would make a poor man out of Paul Getty...
I presume you mean A Town Called Big Nothing. It's a track Elvis recorded with , amongst others , his father Ross for the soundtrack to Straight To Hell a film he and Cait and The Pogues were part of in the 1980's. It's a fun track, very much in the spirit of the film. It's probably best heard in the context of the film's soundtrack , available in a comprehensive edition since 2004 (where it's called Big Nothing by The Macmanus Gang)

I really like it.
But I have an emotional attachment to it -- because it was used as lead-in music for the "Costello Sings Again" shows in 1986.
As a result, I heard it 8 times in (I guess) 9 days (LA & SF).
And, as it was (at that time) unreleased, it was quite the treat.
I'll always have great affection for that song...
