echos myron like a siren
with endurance like the liberty bell
and he tells you of the dreamers
but he's cracked up like the road
and he'd like to lift us up, but we're a very heavy load

Never a fan, but I think Ferry's "I'm not in Love" is one of the greatest songs ever recorded. And I mean it. That song stops me in my tracks and literally rips my soul from the lower left quadrant (where it resides) and then it forces me to watch while it uses a dull pizza cutter to rip it to shreds before replacing it by song end, it tatters, and never the same.
I love this song.
Back to Roxy. Pardon the interruption. Confession.

Not familiar with this song at all. What album is this on Mr A?Ferry's "I'm not in Love" is one of the greatest songs ever recorded

Totally stunned that the Original Roxy line-up does not have more of a following. The first two albums with Brian Eno involved and the third that still has his sense of adventure are essential.
With the passionate following early Bowie has here I would have thought that a whole band that liked to dress up and look like prats would have been unmissable!
Don't be decieved by the later crooner Ferry! His career has almost followed a Rod Stewart trajectory.
Having said that let me lead off with a great late period selection;
Over You
2 H.B
Re-Make/Re-Model
Do The Strand
Editions Of You
The Bogus Man
Street Life
Amazona
Mother Of Pearl
Virginia Plain

For Your Pleasure is my favourite, followed by Country Life, Stranded, Roxy Music, Avalon and then Siren. Got Manifesto, 'tis decent. Havn't even bothered getting Flesh & Blood. Should I?
Regarding Ferry on his own, I like him alot too. Boys & Girls and Bete Noire are very enjoyable listens. Mamouna seemed dull to me at first, but after several listens it's really grown on me. Frantic has some great songs. Havn't listened much to any of Ferry's albums besides these.
Just read on Ferry's website he's releasing a new album in march. Perhaps his recent touring with Manzanera, Mackay & Thompson has inspired him to put out something great again?

Flesh and Blood its actually pretty good, the title track is ace and its got "Over You" and "Oh Yeah".
But you must get "Another Time Another Place" Ferrys second solo album - fantastic from start to finish, all cover versions and all brilliant. "Lets Stick Together" is also fantastic then I would go for the first one "These Foolish Things" then "In Your Mind" then "The Bride Stripped Bare". All first class , wonderful records.
