Fantasy Football 2006-2007
Come one, come all. The World Cup is over and we know you're jonesing for more of the greatest game on Earth. How do you get more of the good stuff to satisfy your craving? Join the EC Fan Forum Premiership fantasy league, of course.
Maybe you're an English football neophtye. Maybe you're an MLS fan (yes, they walk among us ). Maybe you're a longtime supporter of a particular club but have never dipped your toe in the fantasy waters. Maybe you're one of the wankers that beat my sorry team to a pulp last season. Or maybe you're one of the fortunate few who have seen the light and decided to support the glorious blue team from Stamford Bridge. Whatever the case may be, all are welcome (even Liverpool fans - after all, this is an Elvis Costello fan forum) - and it's free!!!
Here's what you need to do...
Go here to create your team:
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/
Then click on Leagues and enter the league code: 108443-60104
For those who participated in the World Cup league, the user interface should look very famiiar, but you will be much more restricted in the number of players you can transfer in and out from week to week, unless you're willing to lose a few points.
Good luck!

"Charlton were formed in June 1905 — as a boys club in an area of Charlton which is no longer residential — near where the London Flood Barrier is now. During their formative years playing at the Valley there was a lack of facilities at the ground. They often used to use a local fishmonger/fish and chip shop as a place to get changed for games. This is where Charlton's famous nickname is derived from: "addick" as a corruption of haddock, the main ware of this particular shop. Others claim the fishmonger nailed a haddock to a board and made a noise during games by slapping the two together; this seems somewhat far-fetched. Other alternative origins of the name include that they were 'football addicts' — an interpretation that because of negative connotations of the word 'addict' is no longer favoured — but also that 'addick' is a vernacular corruption of 'athletic', in the same way Wigan Athletic are known as the 'Latics'. None of these interpretations, however, is universally accepted."
