6. A more frivolous version of 'Watching the Detectives'
7. There are no arrangers in modern music

9. People who try to sing my songs are often daunted

11. On creating emotion by singing out of range
12. Why this album is called 'My Blue Flame'

28. My favorite songs and performances by my wife (Diana Krall)
29. On Diana's new record and 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'
30. I enjoy a good freak-out on the guitar
31. Diana and I compliment each other
32. I think the Imposters were an R&B group

This interview was problably taken after the release of MFBB. But EC discusses also Diana's new album and Fiona Apple...

Has someone listened to this yet? (It's not available in Europe)

Man, I'm in CANADA and can't access this either. Free trade indeed.

But I certainly wouldn't want anyone to put up a link to a pirated version. Cough. That would be WRONG. And if you know of such a thing, please give us the link so that we can know to avoid it.

Surely they mean the other way around, as LaVette covered Mann's "How Am I Different" and Apple's "Asleep To Dream" on her latest I've Got My Own Hell To Raise (produced by Joe Henry).
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Several months ago I was able to hear the entire interview via the site below, but now they appear to only have clips. Works in Canada, hope it works in Europe.

Since I can't access the interview anyway I have prepared my own version with 33 much more interesting EC topics:

1. How Pink Floyd, Yes and Rick Wakeman helped to profoundly influence my career.
2. My first experience working with an orchestra (that didn't end in bloodshed)
3. Ve haff vays of making you orchestrate.
4. On 'Going To Chelsea'
5. Happy Memories of Bruce Thomas
6. A more frivolous version of "Party Party"
7. They call me 'The Lone Arranger'
8. I'm not known as 'a man of few hats'
9. People are often coerced into singing my songs by my publishing company (god bless them).
10. I didn't even know I wrote a song called "Favorite Al"!
11. On creating mass panic by singing out of my range
12. Why this album is called "The Only Flame In Town Burns Blue and Is True"
13. On hotel rooms, and the correct method of trashing them
14. On Ka-Ching (and the acquisition thereof)
15. On Linda Ronstadt's rendition of 'Alison' (or as I like to call it, "The New Swimming Pool and Kitchen Renovation")
16. I always knew I was a filer
17. I don't give confessional interviews (unless I have a beard)
18. The first record I bought (that I didn't immediately throw away in righteous disgust)
19. My favorite songs (depending on my mood swings)
20. I'm determined to record a version of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'
21. The 30 greatest years of music plus 'The Pina Colada Song'
22. I do more than make rock n' roll records (for example, I also make a mean chilli)
23. In some places I'm only known for having appeared in 'Straight To Hell'. Help them, Lord.
24. On Rilo Kiley and Jenny Lewis and how to avoid them at all costs
25. On Aimee Mann and Fiona Apple covering Bettye La Vette from the inside of a barrel going over Niagara Falls.
26. On Fiona Apple's 'Tymps' and bland assumptions about my sudden Fiona Apple obsession
27. On broadway and 'The Man I Love' (Lance Bass)
28. My favorite songs and performances by my wife Diana Krall (and why she shouldn't be concerned about the whole Lance Bass/Fiona Apple thing)
29. On Diana's new record and 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' (and the lack of connection between the two)
30. I enjoy a good freak-out on the guitar (but everyone else looks nervous and appalled)
31. Diana and I compliment each other (as opposed to 'complement each other', like you might have expected)
32. I think the Imposters were an R&B group last Tuesday. Today they're a jazz combo.
33. Favorite songs of my own (all 117,000)
