My least favorite way to be consumed by an animal

For the past 10,000 years or so, humans have sort of taken their position at the top of the food chain for granted.

But recent events in Florida have some folks re-examining our assumed throne in the animal kingdom. In a little over a month, alligators have killed three women in that state, in one case nabbing a jogger and dragging her into a canal. So theyâ€™re not just going after the old and infirm â€“ theyâ€™re taking the healthy ones as well. Which translates into Floridaâ€™s alligator hotline taking an unprecedented 200 calls a day.

But a dog bite would be bad enough for Cheryl Allen, who thinks being mauled by her black Chinese pug, Roly, would be a horrible way to die.

Sounds like a garbled reference to Nick Lowe's "Marie Provost," but that was a dachshund, not a poodle.

Agree - that must be the case. She's confused it with 'Marie Provost' (a fine song actually, but never covered by EC as far as I know).
