Otis: Bloc Party, M.I.A. and that Gorillaz thing. Mariah Carey's Shake It Off was fun, and I know she's the Most Vapid Pop Star or whatever. I'm only halfway thru and your friends FF just popped up with Do You Want To? and something called Art Brut was kinda amusing.
Jack Johnson is ....nice. Mostly acoustic, a little sun-washed. I find it very pleasant. This sounds like faint praise, but it's not.

click on music and you can listen for yourself! I really like the first album, with Inaudible Melodies, Flake, and Bubble Toes being particular faves.

Like me, the "g" is silent.

The Smiths from Irvine Meadows, Laguna Hills, CA, Aug 28 1986. great recording, great set, band at top of their game. A famed bootleg for Morrissey berating an over-zealous security guard during I Know It's Over ('Leave him alone you stupid moron!'). Right now it's How Soon Is Now? Lovely indeed.

Tom, get your plane right on time.
I know your part'll go fine.
Fly down to Mexico.
Da-n-da-da-n-da-n-da-da and here I am,
The only living boy in New York.
I get the news I need on the weather report.
I can gather all the news I need on the weather report.
Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile.
Da-n-da-da-n-da-da-n-da-da here I am
The only living boy in New York
Half of the time we're gone but we don't know where,
And we don't know where.
Tom, get your plane right on time.
I know that you're eager to fly now.
Hey let your honesty shine, shine, shine
Da-n-da-da-n-da-da-n-da-da
Like it shines on me
The only living boy in New York,
The only living boy in New York.

Now you're talking! Thanks for that, made me drag out my Sonics stuff and listen. For a great tribute album, check out Here Ain't the Sonics- you'll get your Mudhoney and Young Fresh Fellows and other Seattle types covering the Northwest's most beloved grunge grandpas.Who Shot Sam? wrote:Great, raucous garage...

Very well, thank you. I got him the Paco de Lucia Antologia you recommended, both 1 and 2, and also one called Legends of Gypsy Flamenco or something like that, which sounded impossibly cheesey to me, but he says it is good.Otis Westinghouse wrote:Hey Goody, how did the Flamenco CDs go down?
It's a radiation vibe I'm groovin' on
