Elvis , solo , plays Hanley, Stoke on Trent, UK, June 17 2015
Between 1979 and 1983 Elvis and the Attractions made three appearances at the Victoria Hall in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. He hasn't been back since, but will play there on June 17th, with support from Larkin Poe.
Will we see a tribute to local lad Robbie Williams as part of the set list? A few of Take That's hits perhaps? Or possibly a Pogues song as a nod to Jem Finer, their banjoist, who is from the area.
Who's going to find out?

Finally found somewhere to park through the tortuous one way streets of Stoke and I 'be cajoled a lovely young usherette into getting me a poster for afterwards. Just supping a Magnums , reflecting my youth before heading into the hall !

Lemmy actually appeared on Elvis' TV montage of people at llandudno. I've been wondering ever since what the connection wasPars wrote:I'll be there.Hoping for a snatch of "Ace of Spades" during "Pump It Up" in tribute to another son of Stoke on Trent,Lemmy.

Remove This Doubt !
I'm Your Toy !!!
The audience was lively and up on their feet really early on and got a great response from Elvis and the Lovell Sisters !
More tomorrow motorway closed in sections again, diverted 15 miles north before I could head back to my base !
Nothing Clings Like Ivy, Less Than Zero and I Hear A Melody too

Thanks for that, Sulky. No complete setlist I can find anywhere, so these nuggets are good (and I'm relying on you to post the full list in due course!). I'm Your Toy is a Detour debut, making the count 132 songs. I Hear A Melody has only been played once, March 5 in Kansas City! Less Than Zero last played in Oxford, June 6.
As you can see, I've been spending time here. Fantastic info source.
Can't wait to see him at the Corn Exchange here in Cambridge tonight. Second time in 3 years there, which a decade ago would have been unthinkable.

Paul Bradwell Boy is unable to attend tonight at Cambridge so I shall have his ticket +2 so if anyone wants a spare one PM me otherwise I shall be doing a bit of touting outside the Corn Exchange !
My recorder was switched off as I came out from Hanley but it appears a battery gave up the ghost during PLU so I've captured all the gig bar the last 3 minutes or so - missed the amazing crowd singalong. The audience put everywhere else to shame, raucous singing along and cheering like lunatics . Elvis was grinning like a loon at every point where they went crazy - a really excellent night though I've had to leave my mobile number to try and get a poster !

It was really interesting to read about the audience. So far there hasn't been any encouragement to get up and dance. There have been people getting up on their feet during the encores and then sitting down because Elvis has played a slow song on the piano or a non dance song like Jimmie.
Enjoy tonight. There should be no excuses for not dancing as it's a standing show for you lucky people downstairs.

Apparently an audience recording of this is circulating !
