What with the date in Japan at the end of July , a series of dates right across the month seems possible. It could , of course, just be Elvis making his usual mid-summer trip to Blighty for his Mum's birthday and deciding to make a bit of dosh while he's at it!

Saw him at the same festival last time round for the UK with the Imposters, 2005. it was fun being at a show with the family all attending. Relatively small and low-key festival, a bit staid. Won't make it this year (once will do me), but worth checking out if you fancy it.

So is anyone planning to see Elvis and the Is, at this festival near Charlbury next month?

"Is this the way they say the future's meant to feel?
Or just 20,000 people standing in a field?"

Not me.

I wonder if Elvis will be joining Hugh Laurie or vice versa onstage.

Also he might even play Beautiful - how great would that be?

I'm going, along with my friend and her husband. This will be our second time seeing EC and we're all really looking forward to it, as we had such a great time at Bournemouth. I wonder how long he'll be on stage for? Surely they won't let him do a full 2.5 hours?!? (Anyway, maybe a long setlist wouldn't be such a good idea, considering his voice was playing up a while back and he had to cancel the Basingstoke gig.)

Can anybody tell me how long he was on stage for, the last time he played Cornbury? Is anybody else going?

Me and my friend are starting to get quite excited about this one now. :D We're just hoping the weather will behave itself and the worst of the rain has finished.

If I recall maybe an hour and a quarter? Much shorter than the typical Elvis. I really enjoyed it, great weather, only time seeing Elv with my kids. It was the weekend after the 7/7 London bombings, or even only a few days and there was a connection of some sort, someone killed who'd recently seen him live. If you work hard you will find my account of it from 7 years back, I guess. I just recall it was a very emotional moment in the show.

Thanks Otis and JohnFoyle.

Not long to go now. :D Website says that EC is due on stage at 9.30. Weather looks a bit changeable - sunshine and showers predicted, but it could be worse, bearing in mind the torrential rainfall some parts of the UK have had recently.

Hope we can get reasonably near the stage. Getting quite excited now...

Here's hoping it's a good gig! If he sticks to the hits, I think that'll be good going for a festival act.

I really enjoyed Elv in Glastonbury '87, BTW.

I was about to post the same. I'm recording as of now, but missed everything up to Bedlam.

Would have been nice to know in advance, but I'll take it.

Vocals way too clear - Elvis right now gabbling lyrics of Stella Hurt. It probably sounds better in a 'wall of sound' setting. So wish I was there!

John, have you figured out if there's a rebroadcast? I'd love to record the entire show.

Don't know Doc. Elvis' voice sounds ropey enough so I daresay it'll get the deep-six, non-rebroadcast restriction, like that Newport show last year.

Hope not. Weird that his voice is struggling today. He's had plenty of rest. Rust?
