It's a busy year for Elvis: he wil have played more than 80 concerts after november. And he will have played almost everywhere.
But what will come next? Will the Revolver Tour hit the UK (and Europe) next year?
What is certain is the release of a live package of the Revolver Tour. The concert in LA was filmed, so a DVD can be expected. See: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3 ... f=2&t=8895 .
But there is no sign yet of a new studio album. He also hasn't played any new songs during the Revolver Tour so far.
The Austin de Lone Benefit ("Costello sings Lowe / Nick sings Elvis") was recorded for a future release. Hopefully this comes out next year. I find Elvis' renditions of the Nick Lowe songs fantastic: I Trained Her To Love Me! Don't Lose Your Grip On Love! I'm A Mess!! I can only hope they will do a tour together. See: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3 ... f=2&t=8308 .
Elvis, Kris Kristofferson and Roseanne Cash have written and recorded some songs together. Will they be released in 2012?See: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3 ... 6&p=140964
In the Stephen King / John Mellencamp musical "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County", Elvis has a role as Devil. The CD is promised for this fall. See: http://www.elviscostellofans.com/phpBB3 ... f=2&t=7957 .
In 2012 it will be 35 years since the release of his first album. Maybe it's the right time for a retrospective box or a new Best Of?

Lovely, succinct but accurate summary,Mr.VdP !
For me a tour of Europe and the UK seems a pipe dream - I'll only believe it when the ticket's are in VG's hands
Is Elvis sitting on new songs or does he just feel they don't fit the Revolver format ? Interesting times indeed .

i don't recall if i said it yet here, but i guess it belongs. when at the Borgata this month i inquired. the girl told me: "tickets can be returned or held onto as the show WILL be rescheduled in early 2012." for what that is worth....

Well at least that leaves the rest of the year to slot in some UK dates.
And yet more New York dates of course

Apologies if this is common knowledge here, but has there been any talk of further installments of the "Costello Show" live series? As archival stuff goes, I'd be more interested in the regular continuation of this than anything, similar in vein to Dylan's "Bootleg Series." I'd love a carefully assembled compilation of performances from the 1984 solo tour, or any other lovingly compiled anthology of solo performances.sweetest punch wrote:In 2012 it will be 35 years since the release of his first album.
