Strummer-Jones alert!
Re: Ellen Foley . . .
I don't remember the "Paradise" video, but on tour and in the infamous Top of the Pops appearance, the woman singing the role was Karla DeVito. Ms. DeVito is a short, zaftig brunette, whereas Ms. Foley is a slender blonde.
Ellen Foley made two or three albums, and her Spirit of St. Louis was produced by Joe Strummer and Mick Jones, who also wrote several songs for it. A couple more were contributed by Strummer pal Tymon Dogg.
Good on you mr. slick! Ms. Foley was one of perhaps three woman "Night Court" used in the public defender slot, until Markie Post showed up in the second or third season.oily slick wrote:who is not the girl in the video, but the girl that was on "night court" for the first year or 2.

And an excellent album it was too!!HungupStrungup wrote:Re: Ellen Foley . . .

Ms Foley also had a couple of successes with the singles "We Belong to the Night" and an excellent cover of the Rolling Stones song "Stupid Girl".

Nick has certainly been involved in some of the more interesting duets, that is for sure... love the final track on Murder Ballads, a cover of Dylan's "Death is not the End" on which he is joined by Anita Lane, Kylie, PJ Harvey, and Shane McGowan among others.katoomba wrote:Hi Tim(e), welcome.
Nick Cave, Chris Baily. Bring it on
I was pleasantly surprised last night when watching my DVD of "Le Peuple Migrateur" (Winged Migration aka Travelling Birds) to find that the song over the closing credits was performed by Nick Cave... a superb ending to a stunning documentary.
And speaking of Chris Bailey, what has happened to him lately... apart from the duet with Cave on Nocturama, he seems to have almost vanished from the scene.
