What should I buy my mom for Xmas?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

What about a pair of nice slippers? That's what I bought for my mom when I was around your age, and she still wears them!

Does she like girlystuff? As someone your Mum's age (I suspect) I would recommend this, great fancy-feeling makeup for a gal on the go....

You can get it at Sephora in the Pru. Actually here's another fun one:

Good call, she is a big bath and body fan.

I was going to get her Friends: Season 1 on DVD- she digs that. But they only have season 4+ at Best Buy- and that would just confuse her. Season 1 has a nice ring to it.

Actually I'm going to promote the idea of Sephora to anyone who wants to give a gift certificate to their chic (or especially, deserving-of-being of chic) Mom.

It is such a girly indulgence to shop there. The stuff is expensive but it's such a pleasure.

Online, in cities and at a few fancy suburban malls....

I was actually going to frame a self-portrait I drew in Drawing & Painting class- but I left it at school to be graded. Oh where are my priorities...

Give her a 25$ gift card to here favorite store. Does she read? Enjoy books or music?

With the remaining 7$, buy and individially wrap in small boxes 7 x 1$ Lottery Tickets. For some very strange reason, people seem to get excited to open and 'play' the lottery tickets.
Not very personal, but if she wins a large sum of money, she can buy you a basement home studio and some lessons from a vocal coach. It may be exactly what you need to launch your career, and there is nothing a real mother wants more than to be able to help her kids find true happiness. Seems to me that you have a real passion for music, writing, and singing.

Or consider the gift that keeps giving all year long...the "Jelly of the Month" Club. Even though Clark Griswald wasn't too thrilled to receive it, I am sure that Cousin Eddie would be thrilled with her cast-offs.

Merry Christmas, WHAR. Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Stay focused.

Thanks Mr.A, I' mdefinitly playing the lottery angle- but I think it'll be scratch tickets. I don't know how I forgot about those.

I may just buy 20 dollars worth of them- 2 fives, 3 twos, 4 ones or something along those lines.

Hmmm.... I'm gonna put in another plug for a gift certificate rather than all lottery tix... cause there's a good chance she'll end up with 2 more free lottery tickets and that's it. Or nothing!

Yesterday I bought some gorgeous sky-blue leather gloves lined with cashmere for $20. Get thee to TJ Maxx, my friend....

I am actually going to get her a thing at a workout place. She has been making it obvious that's what she wants as of late, so I guess I'll give innnnn.

Is there a reason why you're the one saying this?

I admit, it was a tad humorous- but only if that's how you meant it.

(I'm giving you an easy out here).

I'm with you Muggy, there are presents for my loved ones under the tree from TJMaxx. Can't beat the prices.

Wehit, what did you finally decide on? You know, us moms don't really care what you kids get us, so long as you just tell us you love us on Christmas day. :)

You meant retroactive, not retrospective. Put down the bottle and pick up a dictionary.
