This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Have lots of fun but be careful. If you can't be careful, name it after me.

Congrats, WHAR.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Love, ain't it grand?

And since I'm the mom of a teenager myself (egad, I'm old - hitting 40 in August!) I will tell you to both dance with joy and yet, at the same time, watch your step. You know what I mean. But do enjoy the elated feelings that being in love can bring. :)

I met DrS when I was 18. I also broke up with him while I was still 18. We got back together 13 years later. You just never know.

Whatever you do, make sure she can tolerate your love for EC music. 8)

for what it's worth - this thread reminded me of a Modern Lovers Song - especially since WHAR is from Boston -

If I were to walk to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston
Well, first I'd go to the room where they keep the Cezanne
But if I had by my side a girlfriend
Then I could look through the paintings
I could look right through them
Because I'd have found something that I understand
I understand a girlfriend.

That's a girl friend
Said G-I-R-L-F-R-E-N
That's a girlfriend, baby
That's something that I understand
Alright

I walk through the Fenway, I have my heart in my hands
I understand a girlfriend

That's a girl friend
Oh that's a G-I-R-L-F-R-E-N
Well that's a girlfriend, baby
That's something that I understand.

Four o'clock in the afternoon in the Fenway,
I have my heart in my hands

I undertand a girlfriend
That's a girlfriend
That's G-I-R-L-F-R-E-N
That's a girlfriend, baby
Well that's something that I understand.
Everyone just needs to fuckin’ relax. Smoke more weed, the world is ending.

Does she know about the board? If not, then don't tell her. Also, if she can quote Two Tabs of Mescaline back to you then marry her.....love WILL follow!

Flings? Flings?! I'm practically old enough to be your father (this would indeed be a disturbing universe for this to happen, but stranger things have occured!) and you're talking about flings?! What, like having milk and cake with multiple sophomores at the high school cafeteria?

ElVez, if you're old enough to be WHAR's father, then makes definitely makes me old enough to be your father. :?

Congrats, WHAR. Just remember, women forgive but never forget.

[quote="wehitandrun"]:D

I am a boy who needs constant reassurance. [quote]

You'll want to get over that hurdle as soon as possible. Take my word for it. It's not even fair to say that no self-respecting woman wants to put up with a needy partner because the same holds true for any self-respecting guy as well. It'll take time but that's a definite deal-breaker when it comes to relationships. When one partner is needy it can be extremely taxing on the other person who wants to (and feels obliged to) make their boyfriend or girlfriend feel good about themselves. Being needy is also not too far removed from being passive-agressive which is not good because it always leaves the other person feeling as if they were just taken advantage of.

Whew.......Me and your mom were really worried about you there

Ah, EC influenced young love....

Congrats...and just remember how embarrassing it would be to have El Vez as your child's grandpa.

Hey, don't go all Richard Santorum on me now, man! This is Alabama, not Arkansas.

If I may be allowed to crib from Chris Rock's brilliant, sorely missed HBO talk show.

IKE TURNER'S RULES FOR DATING

RULE #1: Shut up!
RULE #2: I said shut up!
RULE #3: No more than two feet in her ass at one time.
RULE #4: I told you to shut the fuck up!
