Your favourite Beatle
McCartney may be the most talented/versatile musician (can play bass, guitar, piano, drums, etc. very well)
Lennon may be the best songwriter
Ringo may be Ringo
but my favourite would have to be George Harrison. I think he has one of the most unique songwriting styles, voices, and sense of humour. He also never let fame get to his head too much, which is quite respectable.

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Lennon was the most interesting Beatle. Don't know how accurate the movie Backbeat is, but it doesn't contradict other impressions I get of his character. I tend to prefer McCartney's contributions more though.
JM, I don't really detect pomposity in Paul, though his playful whimsy is often to an extent which obviously irritates many. Can you cite any examples (besides probably Why Don't We Do It In The Road)? Or can you pin down how (he is pompous) more generally(if anyone can, I suspect you can )? I just want to see if I agree at all.

well I gues that it was an overall impression I got from reading his otherwise excellent book 'Many Years From Now' - a great read that i would recommend to any music fan.
Incidentally CQ, in that very book, Macca strongly argues that 'In My Life' was mostly his song and not Lennons. I tend to side with Macca because the melody has always felt more liek a McCartney song to me..
Anyway, I interpreted the question very differently..it is a very broad thread...a bit like asking what is your favourite country...there are so many elements to consider.
If we are talking about songwriting, I prefer Lennon to most artists generally.
