COME ON YOU SPURS!!
Actually, I interpreted haircut as being synonymous for hairstyle. Like the "Beatle haircut" is not the process of getting their hair cut, but the style.
Actually, that was in England, after not having had my hair cut for probably about five months. I got it cut soon after that and it looked fine.

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.

Yes, and it's an ideal way to see if one is dealing with a transvestite.mood swung wrote:Can females be wedgied?
My first computer, and I kind of regretted it since the guy who sold it to me looked like he 'got me' when I handed it over. Shouldn't have paid for it all at once. It's worth peanuts now of course. So Lacklustre wrote:What's the most expensive thing you've ever paid cash for?
What is the largest crowd you ever publicly spoke in front of and why?

I like vacations where you run around and see a bunch of stuff. Also vacations where the only thing between you and an extremely unpleasant occurrence is your blithe ignorance of any possibility of such a thing happening.
PC, because despite all the accolades of the Mac, and how it's supposedly so much easier to use, I think it sucks, and I can never figure out how to do anything on the damn thing.
Are you going to the March for Women's Rights this weekend?

No
My question: Isn't the idea of a women's march a bit outdated and self-defeating now? I mean, it just seems like they get together and bitch about men, or vice versa. Why don't they call them sex equality marches and both sexes can go? Then things like equal pay and negotiating custodial rights, divorce settlements, and so on can be addressed... rationally.

Not unless something has happened that I missed whereby men can get pregnant and their reproductive rights are at the whim of political winds that have been blowing in increasingly unfavorable directions. Both sexes can and do go, and it hasn't has anything to do with bitching about men for 20 years. We save that for girls' night out. *Note to self: bitch about 'boo on at Sleater-Kinney show tonight* Yes I am really going to SK tonight...bambooneedle wrote:Isn't the idea of a women's march a bit outdated and self-defeating now?
I don't believe what I'm reading.
There are still protests for women's rights for the same reasons that there are protests for the rights of racial minorities and the rights of homosexuals. While strides have been made, there is still a long way to go.
This particular protest has to do with reproductive rights, not putting down men. So I suggest people watch the news before criticising.

Oh, thaaaat march? Miss Buenos Aires said March for Women's Rights. The Washington march is above all a pro-choice thing, regarding reproduction (particular emphasis on partial-birth abortions)... choices which could also include men in the process depending on who you ask. "Women's rights" would encompass a whole lot more, like concerning the things I mentioned, or not much being so vague. It's no surprise that many involved in the march including celebrities decide to place the emphasis on "women's rights", though.
And phrases like "the rights of racial minorities" or "the rights of homosexuals" or "still a long way to go" are just as almost meaningless. Still a long way to go... for what, specifically? Just because you're a woman or a man or you're gay or consider yourself as part of a racial minority, it doesn't mean that you should automatically have all the rights you want. Be specific, and the law might recognize your position.
Pro-choice is about the right to decide about something for yourself above anyone else doing it for you -- that's what it's about -- not about what group you're in. It's fundamental.
