The Juliet Letters

Post by wehitandrun »

My God. I am listening to it for the first time today. Right now "Swine" is playing, and I am frightened.

Stop downloading the entire Elvis catalogue. Buy some CD's for a change :D

I've purchased every reissue released so far, so don't you tell me to go buy anything.

I have them purchased, and downloaded(except for almost blue and king of america, i'm waiting on them to be reissued on rhino).

And Juliet Letters? Who in their right mind would buy that?

8 excellent reasons to buy The Juliet Letters:

Taking My Life in your Hands :(
The Birds will Still be Singing
This Sad Burlesque :(
Who do You Think You Are?
I Almost Had a Weakness
The Letter Home
Jackson Monk & Rowe :D
Jacqueline Thomas

Everyone has a right to their own taste (yours appears to be firmly in the Noise Radio camp), but if you can't appreciate the beautiful moments in TJL then you have my sympathy.......genuinely

PS. Oh...and I should point out that even our rockingest EC fan, Mr Noise Radio does in fact appreciate the importance and bravery of TJL....see some ancient, well worded post on the subject many moons back......even if he also acknowledged that it was not to his muscial taste per se

Hah, okay. No need to bust out paragraphs worth of slander against me.

I was being sarcastic.

The Juliet Letters was and is very important to Elvis's career, ofcourse I realize that.

But, I should not be scolded for preferring Almost Blue, or every other Elvis album to it.

Well, I'd prefer The Juliet Letters to the Bacharach phase.

(again with the sarcasm- but in a good way)

Jack! I dig 'Swine'. It's always been my fave on Juliet. Now 'Why' don't you lay your head down? :P

Well, I got to personally meet Jacqueline at the Ryman AND talk to her for a couple of minutes AND got her to sign my TJL liner notes!!

She's as sweet as she is pretty and talented, too. She said to tell "The Doofster" hello, also.

I love TJL. Again, like most albums, some songs I like more than others, but again the collection as a whole tells a story. I was so pleased to get to see the Brodskys with Elvis. They suit him well. He really seemed to enjoy waving his arms and directing them during the show like some sort of conductor.
