Well, drink or not, that was a disappointing episode. But I was pretty prepared after finding out it was only 30 minutes. Too bad. It would have been nice.
Jools just didn't look interested in the slightest.
It was hardly a surprise that Jools wasn't interested. He hasn't been in squeeze since 'Frank' (1989) and Glenn is very open about his lack of interest in the band even then. He likes his boogie-woogie does Jools...
I still think that Chris and Glenn will write and record together again..

Disappointing, but not really surprising. As those of us on the board (and I've been away a long time) know, Squeeze does not really fit into the show's format of one-hit-wonders. In my view, Squeeze is one of the best groups of the past 25 years, along with XTC. I am confident that they will one day reunite in some form. I am actually glad that they declined to be a laboratory experiment for the entertainment of an audience that probably has no clue as to how good they really were/are.
