Squeeze on VH1 Bands Reunited

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Man, we definitely have a problem with alcoholism on this board.

Won't somebody think of the children???

Why do you think I'm drinking? It's usually because of the kids.

I actually have one of the highest tolerances for alcohol of anyone I've ever known - man or woman. I can outdrink DrS 2 to 1 most of the time.

Alcoholism has nothing to do with tolerance for alcohol.

But have it your way :P

Well, drink or not, that was a disappointing episode. But I was pretty prepared after finding out it was only 30 minutes. Too bad. It would have been nice.

Jools just didn't look interested in the slightest.

It was hardly a surprise that Jools wasn't interested. He hasn't been in squeeze since 'Frank' (1989) and Glenn is very open about his lack of interest in the band even then. He likes his boogie-woogie does Jools...

I still think that Chris and Glenn will write and record together again..

I think what bothered me about it was that most of them agreed to do it and then one by one backed out of the whole thing.

It was still kind of neat to see what they're all up to though. And to listen to them talk about their time with Squeeze.

They should do an episode on The Zombies.

Disappointing, but not really surprising. As those of us on the board (and I've been away a long time) know, Squeeze does not really fit into the show's format of one-hit-wonders. In my view, Squeeze is one of the best groups of the past 25 years, along with XTC. I am confident that they will one day reunite in some form. I am actually glad that they declined to be a laboratory experiment for the entertainment of an audience that probably has no clue as to how good they really were/are.

Why don't the four original Kinks get back together, while we're at it...

Just think, if they did a Wham! reunion, and it worked, it would still only be a half hour show!!!
