Keown deserves to pay for giving me nightmares with his face like that.

I'm still in denial over Saturday.

John Humphreys: What do you do if you see a door labelled "Footballers' Drug Testing Unit"?

Rio: Pass.

You're assuming he'd make it to the studio in the first place!

I bet the FA suspend him for 6 months and then ManU will say that Rio's been persecuted because he's a high profile player (in which case he should know better) and the FA doesn't have any right to mete out the punishment given. They'll then appeal and withdraw it so that the boy Ferdinand's England career won't suffer for Euro 2004.

The irony is that the longer ManU drag it out, the worse it is for Ferdinand and possibly England (mind you he hasn't been playing that well anyway).

He'll get a little suspension and a fine probably..otherwise the FA will be doing themselves no favours. If I was Ferdinand I'd tell the FA to 'go f**k emselves' and not play for engerland again, like Ferguson did with Scotland after he went to prison and the SFA didn't stand by him (probably quite rightly though)...he's never gonna win anything with england anyway, so why waste the energy.

Yesssssss! What a result! What a night for the Blues! Great performances all around, smart substitutions by Ranieri, the despicable Mihajlovic getting sent off, Ranieri giving Johnson the hair dryer treatment, Zola in the crowd.

As for Rangers, very poor indeed. Good night for English clubs.

No, I'm a Yank, originally from California. Been living in New York since 1991. Chelsea fan since the mid-nineties. Been over to see a few matches at the Bridge, most recently two seasons ago.

Well my Chelsea fan work colleague sure picked a good night to combine a trip to Bologna with a Chelsea game in Rome. Remarkable, but why isn't Mutu scoring (more, I know he did at the weekend, he's in my fantasy squad, you see, he has to score more)?

Hail the mighty Diego. What a cracker! And Ruud can still score, and miss!

A lovely result, Stuttgart is a distant memory. Great to see Rangers playing crap.

Fair dues to them for qualifying, and let's hear it for Scottish football (especially Celtic) but I don't care who we're playing, I only want to see us win. Obviously a nail-biting bit of drama would be more thrilling, but United should have cruised the game, and did. Sounds like the Ibrox game was thriling, so it's a shame this was a let-down from football's point of view.

OK?

:D yip! United taught them a lesson, as expected really...but they could have at least turned up. I was at the Ibrox game, and they at least gave you a game there. I can't wait for the United v Chelsea game this year.....

No, I haven't been to any Metros matches, more of an LA Galaxy man (my hometown). I did see Juve play AC Milan in the Italian SuperCoppa a few months ago at the Meadowlands. Blazing hot, but a great match. Would love to see Pavel Nedved in Blue some day!

Congrats to you Otis. Pretty convincing stuff against Rangers. I that really Forlan scoring goals, or has an alien taken control of his body?

Chelsea did well. It may well be blatant jealousy (well it definitely is really :( ) but I cannot take them seriously like the Arse or the Mancs. They were, are and always will be a team of mercenaries. The club has no sense of history (apart from the Osgood years, when they were as effective as the Liverpool Spice Boys) and no inner soul. They are a businessman's toy. That toy will do well as long as he's there to prop them up - but will he be? It's ok spending loads of cash, but can the club sustain those levels of wages if he isn't there ?

It will be interesting to see what happens if Abramovich gets further implicated in the ongoing investigations in Russia. I read in the Guardian this week that Roman is desperate to get his money out of Russia. he is keen to emigrate as quickly as possible and that is not easy in Russia - one of his business associates is the richest man in Russia and he is currently being held in custody as part of the enquiries. Are these the actions of a man with nothing to hide? I would not be surprised to see assets being frozen in the future. Where will the blues be then when they can't afford to pay Mutu and Crespo et al.

Other than these minor gripes, well done Chelsea!

Coming from a Spurs fan, I'll take this all with a healthy grain of salt. Sounds like bitter jealousy. Why is it that the foreign players at Chelsea get accused of being "mercenaries," as opposed to clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, who have just as many, if not more, foreign stars in their squads?

I don't know what will happen with all of this business with Abramovich, but I'm certain we'll continue to thrash Spurs at least twice each season, even after he's long gone.

I don't feel any resentment toward Chelsea...I think they've made the premiership more interesting. So they bought a load of players in one go, well what's the difference between clubs buying 3 players a season for 4 seasons then winning the prem, and a club buying them all in one go?

You've got to admit they're great to watch as well...I saw the Wolves get thrashed, but it was just awe-inspiring the way they did it.

I'm off to the Celtic game tonight, should be 3points for them otherwise it's 'hello UEFA cup' for both the Scots teams. Watch for Arsenal's euro-revival starting today by the way, they're gonna qualify ..6pts at home and a point in Milan might be enough if Kiev lose in Moscow in a fortnight.

I would also argue that some of the players who have had the biggest impact on Chelsea's success this season were not bought by Abramovich - Lampard, Terry and Cudicini especially.

Of the new arrivals, Duff, Mutu and Makelele have been outstanding.

SLL got it right!!

LC - if you supported a London team, you'd understand. You might have a different perspective if West Brom had suddenly accrued a billionaire !!

WSS - Absoutely right about Chelsea continuing to hammer Spurs twice a season - I long since gave up on anything different :( . However, that doesn't make you any different to Fulham, Arsenal, Newcastle and half the rest of the premiership!! :D
Now when your mercenary mob can do that to Arsenal and Man Utd as opposed to our team of injury prone, overpaid and overhyped misfits, you might win something more worthwhile than the FA Cup.
