Hey, turn that frown upside down! Flanders is ripped like an Adonis (see A Streetcar Named Marge) and Philip Seymour Hoffman is arguably the greatest actor of his generation. And I was thinking more of a cross between his Magnolia and Almost Famous characterizations than the darker roles he has also excelled in.noiseradio wrote: El Vez can't decide if I'm an overlyoptimistic religious nut or the most menacing character actor since James Spader.

You've got this intimidating authority about you that reminds me of Laurence Fishburne in Boyz In The Hood. If Hollywood can seriously consider casting Morgan Freeman as Abraham Lincoln because of the actors' natural gravity then I don't think it's much of a stretch, really.bambooneedle wrote:Laurence Fishburne? ... Taz - would you hate me if I suggested Seann William Scott?
Speak to again? no...
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on.

El Vez,
Streetcar Named Marge was written by my 1st cousin, Jeff Martin.
I'm not ripped like an Adonis, but thanks for the nice thoughts. And I like Philip Seymour Hoffman a lot. My students this year on a few occasions have compared me to Donal Logue (I think) from Grounded for LIfe. I don't know if that's supposed to be looks or humor. I'm not sure I'm thrilled either way.

I THINK that was actually Margot Kidder, though it seems to me that Ms. Winger does have a story of her own to tell.Goody2Shoes wrote:El Vez--doesn't Debra Winger die in all her movies? And wasn't she the one who was found skulking around her neighbor's backyards half-naked in the middle of the night a few years ago? I'm gonna start doing that...
And it's time I contributed my own little...yes, we're all characters from the DC and Marvel comic book superhero universes now!
Batman/Millionaire Bruce Wayne -- Jackson Monk Doofster -- he uses two names to confuse the criminal element. Criminals, we all know, are a cowardly lot and frightened of bats and Sean Young.
Noiseradio -- The Silver Surfer
Selmade Mug -- The Black Canary
El Vez -- Prez, world's first teenage President.
Bluechair -- Green Lantern (bequeathed the ring of power by the mysterious founders of this website, he moderates against evil in all it's forms)
Red Shoes -- Jean Grey/Marvel Girl
Gillibenz -- Death (from Sandman)
SoLikeCandy -- "The Mystery of the Batwoman"
Poppet -- Ace Reporter Lois Lane
Wonderwoman -- Misha
A Rope Leash -- Dr. Strange
Pip -- Dr. Barbara Gordon (sometimes known as Bat Girl)
IStandAccused -- J. Jonah Jameson
Lapinsjolie -- Elektra
Bamboo Needle: The Flash
Mr. Misery -- Daredevil
Taz -- Prof. Xavier
Miss Buenos Aires -- Catwoman/Selena Kyle
Otis Westinghouse -- Mr. Mxysptlx (sp????)
CopenhagenFan -- The Beast
MartinFoyle: Galactus
Mike Boom: The Mighty Thor
John Foyle: The Watcher
SelfmadeMug: P'Gell (okay, she's from "The Spirit", which isn't actually a DC or Marvel comic and actually isn't really a superhero comic, either...but it's really, really good and you'd like the casting if you knew the character!)
My apologies to anyone I forgot -- remember, sometimes we're all superheroes (and supervillains)....

Ok, this is becoming an obsession for me on a really dull work day. Last time, I promise. And, remember---all in fun.
One of my professors actually taught a class on this subject, but I was never able to fit it in to my schedule. It's probably been axed--budget cuts and everything.

Thelma Lou, girl wonder: Girl out of Time (boy/girl, see?)
Aunt Bee (don't eat her pickles!): Shabby Doll
Opie: costellopunk
Gomer: Uncomplicated (be happy! you could've been Goober!)
Goober: So Lacklustre (be happy! you could've been Gomer!)
Floyd the barber: DrJ
Ernest (it's me, it's me, it's ernest T) T. Bass: laughingcrow
Briscoe Darling: jackson monkster
Charlene Darling: tokyo vogue
Otis: who else? otis westinghouse
The Fun Girls from Mt. Pilot: Sulkygirl and Spooky Girlfriend.
I quit. I will seek help.

Bobster-Elektra? Does morning become me? I'm a Ninja assassin? Hmmm. .I think I know why you chose her though, unfortunately the reason no longer exists. I've giving up killing for the holidays.
Jackson Doofster-Does that mean we get matching outfits and get paid for being at an Elvis concert? Count me in.
Mood Swung-You are a pop culture genius!

Works for me...still, I'm more of a Burgess Meredith man than a Danny DeVito fan...(though the make-up was great)laughingcrow wrote:Bobster, can I be The Penguin? Villains are always much better than those 'superheroes'...

Yep. I already suspected that EV was a lesbian. It's that mannish way he has about him. (The attraction to Jethro was just a cover!)mood swung wrote:Miss Jane Hathaway: again, who else? El Vez.

This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.
Gotta say, I've always related to Fozzie. Waca-waca-waca! (And I actually resemble him more than than I do Paul Giamatti. Esp. when I wear a hat.)
