Larkin Poe

Larkin Poe started as the The Lovell Sisters, consisting of three sisters and three additional players. Fans of the sister band may be sad to see them go, it’s not as sad as it may seem at first. The oldest sister, Jessica, is attending college now and was recently engaged, leaving little time for traveling with the band. The two younger sisters however, Megan and Rebecca, will continue to perform as Larkin Poe.

Elvis Costello is such a fan he said, "These sisters stole the show, last year."

They joined E and the band on The Scarlet Tide and Crooked Line. It was a great moment. The entire 90 min show was fantastic. I thought he killed it on The Delivery Man. Wish I took down the setlist. They did play the new songs Jimmy, Josephine and Dr Watson which I believe was the first time for a full band version. E mentioned playing Merlefest in 2007 and meeting Doc at that time. The song may have come from that meeting.

That's the same year he saw The Lovell Sisters.

The Sugarcanes played a short run of theatre dates from Boston through Washington, D.C., the United Palace, New York, Richmond, Virginia, Atlanta and Jacksoville, Florida and two headlining festival appearances, concluding with a appearance at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. E.C. sang, "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" during The Waybacks complete performance of "Abbey Road" in the afternoon, while Sugarcanes gave the first full band performance of "Dr Watson, I Presume", a reminiscence of the previous visit to the festival in 2007.

E.C. and The Sugarcanes were joined by Rebecca and Megan Lovell of from their new band, Larkin Poe for finale performances of "The Scarlet Tide" and "The Crooked Line"
