Elvis Costello and Clover
Great American Music Hall
San Francisco, California
November 8, 2007
with guests Bill Kirchen and Austin De Lone

For the 30th anniversary of My Aim is True, and for a benefit for the child of Austin De Lone, Elvis and Clover re-created the My Aim is True album they recorded together in 1977. Clover members present were John McFee on guitar and pedal steel, Sean Hopper on keyboards and John Ciambotti on bass. Clover's drummer was unavailable and was replaced by Pete Thomas. Clover's vocalists, Alex Call and Huey Lewis, didn't participate in the 1977 recording or this concert.

Following the top-to-bottom playing of the My Aim is True, with original arrangements, Elvis and the rest of the musicians in various combinations played a second set of songs all written before 1977, Elvis's declared rule for the evening.

Great American Music Hall concert

Post by vespa_god »

And No Coffee Table,
This indeed is the later show in which I attended. Out of the 20 or so times seeing him internationally over the years, this by far is my favorite gig. Is there any other way I can get a copy of this concert without going thru "dimeadozen"? My computers here at work have massive firewalls and I don't want to risk my job for an audio momento of last weeks gig. From what I remember, RAR and ZIP files still get through here in my cubicle. Many many thanks to any one that can help me out!!!!

Same here. I'd be very grateful if someone could post this gig other than Dime if possible.

intro / Welcome to the Working Week / Miracle Man / No Dancing / Blame It on Cain / Alison / Sneaky Feelings / Red Shoes / Less Than Zero

Part 2 [46:07] (63 MB) http://www.mediafire.com/?1zd5gdxdmmh

On each download page, look for "Click here to start download.." (sometimes a link may timeout, but the problem is usually temporary, so try it again later.)

thanks go to the taper, mikem99
who didn't give permission for this to be converted to mp3, but did not expressly forbid it either.

This latest is a new source.
On both the early and late shows, the sound is much better.

I agree with the good Doctor. Both shows are a significant upgrade, especially the early show. The first edition of the early show was such a mediocre recording,I passed on downloading it(no disrespect to the taper, but it is what it is)Do yourself a favor and grab both of these shows.

Yes, this 'new' version is the definitive recording of the earlier show. Fine new version of the later show as well, though I think the first version has a bit more body. Maybe someone could do a matrix. This what makes torrents so great. In the olden days you'd have to go through all the hassle of snailmail trades, and all the time and pitfalls, now you can easily download a better version and discard the lesser one.
