The you-like-THAT-song-by-that-artist game

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Valley Girl

I always thought this was written about Moon Unit but I'm not sure if the timing is right.

(Not so) New Rule - You HAVE to explain why you like the song you are selecting or at least say SOMETHING about it!!!

Tough call - the sneer of a vocal on Precious or the guitar riff on The Wait, but ...... Talk of the Town is just a perfect pop song.

Where Were You? - the only song of theirs I realy know, and have on 7" vinyl. Heard it on Peel and fell in love and had to have it. 'You had yellow hair, did you see me?' I'll never forget my oldest mate Tim accusing me of being wilfully obscure liking records purely cos I knew no-one would have heard of it, and my honest reply that actually I'd much rather live in a world where this song was no. 1. I gather they've been going forever and even got quite successful. I'd have expected them to split in 1981 and be hazily remembered for post-punk classics such as this.

Embarassment, particularly if you play it from an original Stiff copy. Their finest moment by a long way.
