Euro 2008 FFL

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Euro 2008 FFL

Post by PlaythingOrPet »

Register here: http://en.fantasy.euro2008.uefa.com/

Then go to 'Leagues', put the code in the box and Fanny's your aunt.

Detours & Rendezvous League code: 31428-6241

There is a friendly game going on at the moment but everyone's score will be reset to 0 come June 7th. And there's unlimited transfers between matchdays!

Eveyone is welcome!

It's been reset now so here's the new code: 31428-6241

Make sure you read the help section. I'm still getting my head around the Wildcard rule. :?

When I respond to the registration e-mail it says:
The activation of your account could not be completed.
The service is temporary unavailable. Please try again later.

Thank you.
Just sent a note to their help desk. Hopefully they can fix it.

Same thing happend to me, WSS, but I tried again the next day and it was fine. If that fails you can always start again with a different email. It does seem a bit of a faff though, doesn't it?

Teams need to be completed by 18:00 CET tomorrow, which is 17:00 in the UK and 12:00 East Coast US.

Is it just me having a nightmare navigating the website? I've gone onto the site to look at my team and I can't find it anywhere? :?

(and yes, I did register! )

Can somebody post a direct link to the league and the teams.

Here, la! I'll be joining. give me strength and time. Otis Junior has signed up but doesn't seem to be in the league yet. He know way more than I do about non-Prem Euro players (thanks to Playstation), so there'll be some father/son rivalry going on!

Isn't kick-off at 4.30? How come 17.00? I've got to go to my aunt-in-law's boring 70th bash so I'll miss the first evening, it seems.

Come on Poland! (And Spain.)

Now I get it! Doh! Very unclear site... Thought I was registered but I hadn't entered the email and password to then set up team...

Ciudad de Matanza take their place. My son must have got the registering name and username confused as the plan to have him as Otis Junior didn't work!

Bring it on! My bastard colleagues have barred me from the predictions game we have played every two years since 2002 - it was a long-winded attempt to get me to sign an apology in which I also had to agree that Man Utd were cheats, undeserving of Champs League, inferior to City (mad blues fan wrote the letter) and that people from Jersey had no right to support them. The apology being for missing a Predictions Committee Meeting at the Cambridge Beer Festival at which we were to agree whether the traditional 90 minute prediction or 120 min would apply in the knockout phase. I've always favoured 90, more demanding, whereas others went for 120. I was too busy completing pre-holiday work to attend. My response was to demand an apology myself for this offensive behaviour and an official invitation to join ... so no predictions this time, which feels odd, but then all my energy can go into the Fantasy.

Congratulations !
David Villa was indeed a great choice.
I put too much faith in Italy (though I've never liked Italian football).

Spain and the Netherlands look most convincing at this stage.

Good move! Bugger me - I just looked at the league and thought 'wow I'm top' before I realised my 15 year old Euro-loving progeny had managed to correctly name himself as originally intended as Otis Jr. Good on the lad for keeping faith with Cristiano. I demoted him from captaincy in favour of Podolski after a poor show on Saturday - surely I should have learnt from the Premiership?

It was exciting arriving in Basel at around 6.15 this evening on a train specially laid on for fans and seeing hordes of them streaming through the station chanting 'Hopp Schwiiz' and the like. And then you realised some of the red was for Turkey too. I was at the airport for the first half and the fans were going mental with the Swiss goal. I was in the Duty Free muttering dark oaths as I'd put in the Turkish goalie, confident of a lack of Swiss strike-power! I pity the Swiss who would have had the smiles wiped off their faces when arriving in England and hearing the final score. As you'd expect, Switzerland seems to have gone entirely football crazy - very evident in every bar, restaurant, etc. and with open air screenings. Nice.

I don't know what happened to my team. It's a nightmare site to navigate through.

I entered my team last week and at the time only Plaything's team was in it. I went to try and find it again and it's not there. Sorry - it means that someone else will have to occupy last place!

The site is a nightmare.

I'm doing crap, but the tournament is great. Incredible Turkey comeback tonight. Sadly I missed it. The sound stopped working on our TV reception and we thought Czech Rep were home and dry, so had a quick game of Pro Evo (my son is a master, I am an utter no-hoper, so Spain beat Holland 6-0, including an own goal). Hollanbd have been phenomenal. Robben and Van Persie last night were awesome. The poorness of Italy and especially France, the nous of Billic. It's great stuff. And nicely sized at 16. Plus no prospect of wanting to vomit over penalties - at least that's my way of coping with the absence of England.

The dream is over for Poland. We were probably the weakest team. :(

I will be crossing my fingers for Holland. They were amazing against Italy and France, and I just hope they will keep playing like that for the rest of the tournament.
And please please please don't let Italy go through to quarterfinals.
