bad, bad friends

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

bad, bad friends

Post by miss buenos aires »

I thought I was lucky when a friend of mine and his boyfriend agreed to see "28 Days Later" with me, seeing as no one else would. But no, twenty minutes into the movie, they freak out and leave! What the shit? Apparently they thought it was going to be more of a psychological thriller, not something where everyone has to fight zombies to survive. I cried with fear, and I was all alone. Jesus. I will never forgive them, ever.

I must say, that does suck. Recovered yet (from the zombies, not the crap disappointment by so-called friends)?

What I think is a bit eerie is that 20 years from now we will probably all watch it and yawn. It is just plain strange how quickly desensitized people get. I remember horror movies from way back (being old and all) and none of the ones that used to make me cring behind a towel effect me at all. Now that's scary!

Grlie: It's about a highly contagious virus that makes people go crazy with rage and try to kill everyone around them (except, for some reason, other infected people). Scary elements include: crazy infected people that ambush our heroes by leaping out of unexpected corners, swarms of rats, sympathetic characters that get infected, bloodthirsty chimps, vomiting of blood (there's quite a bit of this), hacking people to bits with machetes, and a scene where you're not sure if our hero is gouging that guy's eyes out because he's become infected and crazy, or because the guy has just tried to rape his girlfriend. Actually, he's not gouging out the eyes, he's doing the opposite: pushing his thumbs into the eye sockets until the eyes burst and his thumbs go into the guy's brain or something.

The other night I dreamt that I had to leave the country immediately because of an epidemic, and I couldn't find my passport. But there was no bloodshed.

I hope I never think that a nice guy with his thumbs in someone's eyes is not scary. But maybe I will...

That's always been my thing about horror movies...if they're bad they usually suck and if they are any good then you're scared...and who the hell wants that? :)
A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. Do you think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fuckin' cross? It's kind of like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on.

Last night I had a nightmare where the virus had mutated and become slower-acting. So you couldn't tell when the people around you were going to become crazy and bloodthirsty. When I woke up, there was a thunderstorm raging outside. I had to stay awake for a little while to avoid slipping back into the nightmare.

This is getting ridiculous. I had another dream about it last night, where I was in a nightclub, and it turned out that rats carried the virus, and they started to crawl out of the sink and everyone started panicking and running in the streets. Madonna was there, trying to get in with some of the bands of survivors, but everyone knew that it'd been so long since she'd done anything for herself that she didn't have any skills. She was worried about her roots growing out, but she didn't want anyone to know, for fear that they wouldn't take her seriously.

I am going to kill Scott and André.

Ms. BA, I saw a TV ad for the movie and I immediately thought of you!

I can also see why it is giving you nightmares. The ad alone is sufficiently scary to induce them.
