Which Other Songwriters Are As Good as Elvis?

Few can match Elvis as a songwriter but, for me, the following can be mentioned in the same breath. Who do you think?

Paul Kelly
Ron Sexsmith
Aimee Mann
Paul McCartney

Glad to see Paul Kelly in your list. An amazing and oft underrated songwriter.

I love Paul Kelly's music ... so sad that he's so unknown in America. His catalogue is uniformly incredible. Like Elvis, Paul Kelly is a true master of lyric and melody.

In my opinion, Kate Bush when it comes to releasing her own solo studio albums and writing all of the songs of those albums. The Kick Inside, Never for Ever, The Dreaming, and Hounds of Love are all fantastic.
