I’ve got 18,000 tracks on my iPod and I haven’t got it with me to check through, but... Lucinda Williams’ last album, West. I always come back to her. That song Unsuffer Me is just ferocious. I thinkthat she’s just the best singer, the best writer — along with Joni, Waits and Dylan. I think she’s as good as Hank Williams. She’s got that kind of economy. Oh, and I should also mention Theme Time Radio with Bob Dylan. He’s so well-informed and funny on that show and you actually find out more about him through his DJing, what he says and what he plays, than you ever do in an interview.
