The Briggs Unplug

Today LA-based punk band THE BRIGGS, co-fronted by brothers Jason and Joey LaRocca, released a special six-song EP featuring five acoustic versions of tracks from their critically acclaimed 2006 release "Back to Higher Ground" as well as a cover of Elvis Costello's "Two Little Hitlers."

The EP is a departure from the loud-and-distorted guitar-riff road normally traveled by the raucous quartet and succeeds in capturing a more subtle and soulful twist of the band's underground anthemic efforts.

Aptly named "The Westlake Sessions," the EP was recorded live at the famous Westlake Recording Studios in Los Angeles California. Westlake Recording Studios is the birthplace of such epic albums as Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and is world renowned for having hosted such iconic artists as U2, Prince, Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. "It was really cool working in a studio with so much history," said Jason LaRocca. "It was inspiring in many ways."

THE BRIGGS are slated to head back into the studio in December for pre-production on their highly anticipated 2008 full-length release.

"The Westlake Sessions" EP is now available for purchase at digital music stores.
