Great to see you back... I was getting worried that we may have lost the site permanently.

It's good that they'll find us, but that and http://ecfans.dyndns.org/phpBB2/index.php make you keep having to log on just to post. You end up in a half logged-in state... I hope it can be fixed shortly.

Good work, Spookies.

Can you explain? The only thing I know of is that we do require you to have be logged in to post and that if you sit idle for more than 1 hour, it will automatically log you off.

I also enabled the "magic image" you have to type in the contents of when you create an account. This should eliminate the cigarette and escort ads we sometimes got.

It could be because I've been finding my way around the site through old links on my browser this week checking out threads... At times it appears that I'm logged in because my screen name appears at the bottom, but then I notice that it still says 'log in' near where it says Help The Site, which means that I have to re-log in between posts in a most disturbing straddled state of board existence.

UNLESS, as I think I've just discovered just now, I re-(log) in at the bottom and stick to fresh links thereafter. I'll do that from now on.

Thanks for your help Doc.

No... it didn't work. I just tried to edit the above right after posting and it asked me to log in again. Then, puzzlingly, it let me get in to post this post without asking again. Weird.

Just after posting the post immediately above, I went to see if it would let me edit again (it was displaying the edit tab when it took me to look at the post), and it still would as me to log in again. Despite clicking on 'log me on automatically each visit' each time I log in, it only lets me post or edit immediately after having re-logged in again between each post and numerous urgent editing operations 8) .

This could be a configuration issue with your browser. To be logged in requires that you accept a couple of cookies from the board. Check that your browser is allowing cookies.

If you need help checking this, just ask and let me know what browser you are using.

What sort of cookies do you require-- persistent, third party, chocolate? I can provide you with all these but it still happens.

I use IE.

Doc, I notice that pages are now taking more than 15 posts. Great idea!

You are very observant.

I changed it. It used to be 15 and I changed it to 25. I thought it might help to see more of the discussion at a time.

The number can be anything we like but 25 seems like a nice number.
