Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, London (UK), June 27, 2010

This would absolutely make my year! I've got tix for HRC and adding EC and the 'canes to the lineup would make my London trip a EC Trifecta (Meltdown + HRC + Liverpool).

It's still listed on the Meltown website, so I wouldn't have any fears about it going ahead.

Re: Relatively Insignificant EC Stuff. . .

For anyone interested, Patchwork River, the excellent new record from Jim Lauderdale (co-written by Robert Hunter), came out yesterday. It's Jim's 18th album in 19 years - perhaps the only artist that can make EC seem like he's resting on his laurels.

Re: Elvis 'sings on Court Yard Hounds album', May '10

EC isn't credited in the album insert and I can't detect his presence on any of the tracks, so I think this one's BS. Shame, though, he'd fit right in on this record. The Jakob Dylan duet is wonderful.

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville

I find a lot of the new songs amazing: Stations To The Cross, Dr. Watson, I Presume, Jimmy Standing In The Rain, A Slow Drag With Josephine, A Condemned Man, The Part Of Him You're Leaving,... Anyone agrees? I agree. Particularly Jimmie, Josephine and Five Small Words. I expect I've Lost You will g...

Re: MP3s of new song "I've Lost You"

I am really digging this song. It's greatn when two songwriters I love work together and I can hear what both of them contributed to the song. I can hear some real Jimian and Elvish touches in here.

Most optimistic about the new record!

Re: New Album(s) Being Recorded in Nashville

Judging by the songs Elvis has been cranking out in concert since last year, it's looking like we're going to get: 'Jimmie Standing In The Rain' 'Five Small Words' 'You Hung The Moon' 'One Bell Ringing' 'Poor Borrowed Dress' 'I've Lost You' 'That's Not The Part Of Him You're Leaving' 'Condemned Man...

By the time this tour's wrapped up, they'll have covered the entire Mick Taylor era! I hear they're working up a mean version of Cocksucker Blues for the Liverpool show.

Re: The Top 25

Thought it would be interesting to look at my actual Top 25 EC songs (in terms of listens) vs. my faves. So firing up iTunes, I find that the Top 25 most listened to EC tracks in my library are: 1. Six Fingered Man (from The River In Reverse) 2. Bedlam (from The Delivery Man) 3. I Want You (from Blo...

This would make a great idea for a romantic comedy. A musician following his love around by booking tour dates in the same venues the day after.

Love Alison . He can definitely retire Radio Radio and Pump It Up , though. And Watching the Detectives , too, for that matter. I love all of those songs, but I think Alison has got to the point where it feels like a perfunctory part of the show, like Crowded House doing Don't Dream It's Over . He ...
