Re: Elvis solo, Amsterdam (Holl.), November 10, 2011

This date and the date in Amsterdam are billed as Solo shows. It seems possible that the European tour this year will be solo shows only :-( , unless he decided to ask the Brodskys to join him for some of the UK dates?

Interesting for me that he is now including "Beyond Belief" in his solo set. He played it just before Christmas in Chicago too: http://www.elviscostello.info/wiki/index.php/Concert_2010-12-20_Chicago You will recall that the first time he ever played it solo (he said) was for Zoe Ball, whe...

Re: The Return Of The Imposter: National Ransom No.2

This is more in the style of the remixes issued with the singles taken from ATUB or WIWC # 2. IMHO too much of the accompanying video appears to have been shot on a mobile phone, in the back of a taxi in Seoul. However, as an accompaniment to a new "release" it has much to commend it. Elvi...

The final issue was issue 28, but many were double issues, so if you had a copy of every BB published, you would have 23 in all.

Re: In a certain light .... Lou Dalgleish plays L'pool

As the author of the quote from "Beyond Belief" I can second CTB's warm words about Lou/Elsie. I saw her play a whole set of EC covers at a sold out gig in a small venue in the Kings Heath (Birmingham) last year accompanied by Gladstone Wilson. She tackles a wide spectrum of EC's songs - f...

Two possibilities spring to mind: Ransom notes (as in musical notes), in the style of a ransom note, with letters cut out from a newspaper, like some of the early Jamie Reid Sex Pistols artwork or The Wolf Whistles, thinking about the cover of National Ransom and the whistling in Slow Drag with Jose...
