I was particularly saddened to hear that he suffered from a form of dementia towards the end of his life. Such a cruel and evil thing to have to go through especially when your life's work was helping other great artists create films that have done nothing but inspire and enrich the lives of countle...

Quite possibly the greatest cinematographer of all time. The films he lensed for Bergman were art in every way and his work was every bit as influential as Greg Toland's collaboration with Welles for Citizen Kane.

I just bought Wareen Zevon's Life'll Kill Ya for a buck at a moving sale. Is that a good one? A second dollar got me a great seventies tan leather purse, but I guess that's one for another thread. For whatever it's worth, I think that Life'll Kill Ya is one of the twenty best records released in my...

1. What was the last concert you attended? Chris Knight at Zydeco. 2. How many people were there? 100 people. Maybe. 3. What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times? Bob Dylan - six times. I love my skinny Jewish harmonica player. 4. Do you have any physical setlists? from what ...

Little Miss Sunshine . Very entertaining and extremely well acted movie. I particularly liked how Greg Kinnear walked the fine line with his character between complete tool and well meaning dad. And any movie that lets Alan Arkin drop the f-bomb at will is ok by me. Only Sam Jackson does it any bet...

I just discovered that W. Earl Brown, the actor who plays (rather amazingly) Swearengen's right hand man Dan Dority on Deadwood, was also Cameron Diaz's handicapped brother in There's Something About Mary. If you've been following Deadwood, the contrast there is unbelievable to the point of alchemy.

I went in to Target on my lunch hour to get it and, unfortunately, their delivery system was totally screwed up because of the holiday. It was pretty much the only place in town that was open and likely to have it....I won't go in to Wal Mart even for The Man In Black. Sigh, guess I'll have to wait ...

Pop and Blue both gave you some can't miss recommendations and I would just like to add that Cohen is also the beneficiary of two superlative tribute records; I'm Your Fan and Tower of Song. Much like Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen is unearthly with that songwriters' pen but his voice can be a toug...
