It was great, but he doesn't swing over the audience as I'd read but he's just pulled up and down a little. But the Attractions look so cool, and EC does seem glassy eyed.

If I had the technology I'd encode it and upload it, but I don't have the technology.

Hooray! "I Can't Stand Up..." On TOTP2 Thursday 19

Phill Jupitus is the guest host this week and Thursday's show begins with Elvis doing "I Can't Stand Up..." from Feb 1980. Hopefully this is the footage where he swings around the studio on a wire, which I've never seen. The site lists ths show as being on at 18.45, but all this week where...

For the last few months Randy Newman's "Sail Away" album has been amazingly on the money for what's going on right now. I'll be seeing him live next week, I'll be curious to see what he has to say about all this.

There is a US version in the works, as well as Gervais and Marchant being on board it's being Exec.Produced by Greg Daniels, who's ex-Simpsons, so it mightn't be totally shite. But it probably will be.

The version in the show was a sound-a-like put together by sessioneers. The loathsome Stereophonics had took in into the top 3 in these parts two years ago. The success of the Office in the US surprises me, the Golden Globes were particularly surreal last week. If you haven't seen it, you have to ge...

Yes I was aware of this. We've so much in common! Even though I've only just bought my third Zappa record I read his autobiography some time around 1992, I've seen 200 Motels and I found a 1993 Zappa documentary which I taped on video recently. So I knew a lot about the guy but not about the music. ...

Since this thread is still going I thought I'd let y'all know that I got "We're Only In It For The Money" at the weekend. I likes it. It has Mother People on it which I recall as the song which played when Frank Zappa appeared on The Monkees (smashing up a car with Mike Nesmith). This was ...

Thank you all, I moght pick something up today, or go on an internet splurge. ARL, it's quite sweet that you think I might be horrified by the more scatalogical side of Zappa. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't go round with glasses on the tip of my nose, tutting at things. I think it's a brillian...

Frank Zappa -What should I buy now...

I have decided to get even more serious about music by getting into some new stuff for the new year. I want to get into Zappa. I have the Strictly Commercial Best Of and Weasels Ripped My Flesh. Based on the compilation I was going to start with Joe's Garage and Cheap Thrills, but none of the seven ...

Paul plays drums on Back In The USSR, not Dear Prudence. Although I will now have to check this in a day or two when I can get to my "Complete Sessions" book. There's a recent live Macca give on the radio now and it just reminds me of the beautiful experience of seeing him back in May. It'...
