In Light of Saturday Night Live

One would think EC could be welcomed back, for quality and ratings, to NBC's SNL. It's doubtful that there should be any hesitation on E's part. I wonder if Lorne Michaels would respond in kind to petitioning.

I'm so glad that E, especially through the guide of his rhythm section, had a fruitful and extensive musicial journey through those parts; Mississippi & New Orleans after Memphis.

I heard Texas impressed him, as well. Good memories, creative as well as personal, were made I'm sure.

I am the cheese. I hadn't hoped I would wind anyone up, really, I just liked the quote and I didn't think he was being mean. It was obviously something out of a conversation, but that's Contact Music for you. I was on a bit of a jag the other day. Now, Elton John.. he ruffled some hardline Madge fan...

Elvis On Madonna

I did a search & couldn't find this on-site, yet. I hope it's not a repeat post - it's pretty amusing:

Miss BA, your post on the prior page may be more on the money. What a turnaround that Brenda is the sympathetic character, now. Maggie is somewhat of a weasel herself. His late wife was sort of a mix of the two. Something says this may not be all he gets for killing a mockingbird, or that snake from...

I was under the impression that his rhythm section - more notably his bass player - had turned him on to the idea of the deep south as a place of inspiration. Maybe E just needed some prodding.

Sorry, man, I didn't mean to be. I'm just good pals with the originator's lovely sister - who, incidentally, looks a cross between Audrey Hepburn and a Warhol Factory model.

I suppose this answers my questions posted in the Pittsburgh thread about how the Philly show went. Ironically, the medium-size halls Dylan often opts to play have dreadful sound, as well. The Philly photos were amoung the latest's best of EC's homepage. I even thought I recognised a couple of peopl...

On the subject of outfits, are hats to become the trend in Elvis shows? I notice that both he and Davey F. often wear them. Can we expect the other two to join in? I somehow can't picture Mr. Nieve donning one while tending to the keyboards.

One 'r' chap. :P But now that I do think about it, he rather looks like the man who played the young Clark Kent in the first Superman movie. Or the actor who played Kuryakin in The Man From UNCLE who was also in the short-lived Invisible Man series.

He is touring & revisiting several cities. I would have asked if he was going to continue on this way until the end of the year & then record again or go out for even more dates. It seems he hasn't stopped in a couple of years.

He sang relatively quietly, as if he were trying to affect a different style. I couldn't tell the song until a few bars in. The 'boys' were pushed way in back & I couldn't see if Steve N. was part of it @ all. At the end, Dave came out to greet & gave a wave to the rest of the band. They oft...

I regret missing this morning's segment. I slept through, assuming it would be akin to the Letterman performance last night. From where I am I would say most of the problem lies w/people who commit terrorist acts thinking their message will be conveyed to government & other political figures by ...

For reasons I'll not get into, this is strangely ironic. But I'll say this, there are a lot of errors on that site. Still, it's a good resource that can only get better w/time. If I ever want to double or triple check something, I go to a lyrics website (Lyrics.com & the like), Barnes & Nobl...

My god, how tragic for the girl & sad for her family. It was comforting to read about her days & mood until that point. A story, with a face to it, really makes it all more real to those outside England. Here's to hope that she will be found. :(

Our American bass player, Davey Faragher, remarked that, with his dyed yellow hair and strange tattoos, Cissé looked more like a character from a superhero comic strip. How ironic. He had playdough yellow hair for weeks in his third band. Looked quite nice, too. Loved the bit where Elvis called tha...

Of course Heart Trouble is a favorite because of D. Faragher - his bass playing is all over it (he could have helped with that letter if E wasn't so eloquent already). So, maybe he could play, again, at an R&R Hall of Fame induction. ;)

BTW -- I've never actually seen "Billy Jack" -- even as a child, I had moviegoing standards!
Try Born Losers. It's a prequel of sorts - major guilty pleasure damage.

Steve Hanley is one of my (if not the most), fave bass players. I wish they would come to Chicago this summer. I assume he would tour w/them - or who else would it be?
