Taking Liberties reissue -- speculation

I recently got a copy of the " Unloved Songs " boot -- stunning, in its sound quality, and delightful, in its content. Given the timing of these ridiculously high quality tapes surfacing at this strangely late juncture, and given the recent performances by Elvis of a couple of the more obs...

"Juliet Letters" is a criminally ignored piece of work.
"The Letter Home" is a fantastic composition, melodically and lyrically.

Torrent/FLAC/WAV Novice -- Please Advise

I'm computer retarded -- let's get that out in the open. Much to my amazement, I now have a bunch of FLACs compiled, and am playing them through a WinAmp. NOW -- to burn them onto disc, I need some kind of FLAC converter to get them to WAV -- is that correct? And if so, is there quality loss? Can I ...

This was my 1st EC show attended. I taped it on cassette -- it was actually broadcast a week after the show -- at the time, and have always been a bit disappointed on the sound from the segments that are on "Crawling Throught the USA". Not bad, just not perfect. This version now seeded is ...

If I'm not mistaken, AT did the incredible horn arrangements for the Band's Rock of Ages shows. I sure wish he'll cook up some more of that for this album. Then, an Imposters With Horns tour would be nice... You are not mistaken. Incredible arranger, that Allen. Indeed. The horn arrangements on Roc...

EC & the Rude 5 -- 1991

Just recently procured a bootleg CD titled " The Summer of '91 ". A really pleasant surprise, as this helps towards alleviating what is certainly the greatest deficiency of my collection -- live shows from '89 & '91. Up until now, my only morsel was the hour-long version of the "M...

I don't know. With the phrasing and singing style, that track sounds "pre-professional". Very similar to his approach on the "Honky Tonk demo" songs.
Check that. More specifically, the phrasing is closer to the Flip City stuff, rather than Honky Tonk Demos.

Yeah, I was pretty sure that it was related to the reissues, what with the quality and all. It just seems strange that they are surfacing now, in that that period's stuff would've been plodded thru years ago, as the MAIT reissue is years old now. Perhaps these leaks are related to still-to-come bonu...

Quite possibly his finest hour. MLAR cut is tremendous, I think. (Vocal is a little agressive, but nothing that compromises the cut.) Live version from '91 is good, but doesn't quite happen. (I'm sure that there were better versions that haven't seen the light of day, official release-wise...) (I 1s...

I'd point out that "his aim is still true". I'd mention his "avenging nerd" status during the halcyon days of "punk" and "new wave", with passing reference to his glasses and knock-knees... And by all means, mention the "Ray Charles incident" of '79,...

Was the entire performance of Scarlet Tide broadcast in other areas of the country?

In S.F. we got merely seconds at the end of the song.

Yeah, that acoustic has gotta be what John Lennon called the "Jumbo Gibson". (Don't know the model # offhand.) That would be the guitar that created the feedback at the beginning of "I Feel Fine", as well as the signature riff. (Was baffled for years at the sound the "electr...

So my older brother (not quite the EC fan that I am, but close enough...) arrives in Connecticut yesterday morning for business through next week. He goes on the internet to find out what's going on Friday night for kicks. Sees that EC & Emmylou are playing 10 minutes from his hotel, and nails a...

I just looked it up -- says that she was born April of '47 making her 58 . I had no idea -- thought she was more like 52 or so. Yeah, I prefer editing my stuff as I record, so that I have the best possible quality compilation. This method is fraught with danger -- easy to screw up and miss a couple ...
