Re: Which EC song means the most to you out of context ?

Couldn't Call it Unexpected #4 When MLAR was released, my brother was coming to the end of a long, losing struggle with cancer. The song hit me, hard, immediately. I know that many people aren't particularly enamored with the studio take of this song, but I will always consider it one of the high p...

The 2-disc release (as shown by Amazon, anyway) has a slightly different track list than the individual releases.

On Amazon U.S., the 2-disc listing is attributed to a different label than the two single-disc releases.

Re: Battered Old Bird

Oh and I am kind of confused, was this 'This Is Tomorrow' supposed to be some sort of live DVD or record that was part of the Hollywood High collection bit ? This is Tomorrow was a very nicely done 2-CD bootleg. It was sourced from the transcription discs that where used as a BBC radio broadcast. h...

Yeah -- the George Jones demos are very interesting, in that it's really the only instance (to any great degree) that Costello has sung songs in another's "voice".
I love that stuff. Particularly Brilliant Disguise.

I got into a squabble on a political message board with a very conservative fellow (and very pro- Israel ) around the time of the Tel Aviv cancellation. The path of the discourse eventually went throught Columbus (by the other fellow's hand, of course) -- I suspect after some internet-based research...

By no means a benchmark composition -- and it certainly felt like a throwaway upon release -- but, nonetheless, it was the first undertaking with horns on it (I believe, offhand), so it had its charming novelty at the time.
And -- it's got a bit of a groove to it.
