I am a big Meters fan too. I always check the Funky Meters when they visit Baltimore. Would be something to see AN and GP with the original lineup (ZM and LN) although BS and RB jr (great drummer) are pretty damn are hard to beat. Art's health has really dropped off because of a nerve disease (MS?) ...

I am not sure about the 1960s. IMHO EC arrived on the scene at just the right time (late 1970s when Disco and Stadium Rock ruled and prior to MTV de-evolution) to make his statement.

What is funny is that when I go to EC concerts now I see many people that would have never been into him back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I am not sure how EC would fit into the MTV pop World of today but I having a feeling he came just at the right time (prior to MTV) where a indi label like...

I seem to remember reading that EC and his son went on a trip to Russia around the time of Live Aid. There might be some archived article that mentions it. I actually found the archived Musician magazine article that mentions it: "The morning after we met in London, history-buff Elvis/Declan an...

One of EC's most restrained vocals (can actually hear him breathing through his nose) is on Watch Your Step which also happens to be one of my all time favorites. I remember he did a great version of it on the Tomorrow Show or Letterman Show (in black and white). Does anyone have that? Would love to...

This reminds me of EC's Tonight Show visit at that same time. Joan Rivers (a big Reagan supporter) was the host and EC played a crazed version of PIOT. You could tell she wasn't to happy with EC. I had a tape of this but it is long lost. By the way I am VERY a-political so never been a fan of this s...
