I went and saw the DDB a couple of weeks ago. Now they are a straight ahead funk band and no KJ. The first time I saw them back in the middle 1980s they were super great but have slowly sold out over the years (adding guitars, full drum set and key boards). They just couldn't make it playing the mor...

I remember EC mentioning Madonna singing out a key at the Grammy's. He likes to poke fun at her it seems. I believe she comes up in one of his songs around PTC or GBCW.

I agree especially with his constant touring (following in BD foot steps?).

Also was happy to hear ELH mention DC because I am sure EC is not aware of its great music scene. He usually just points a political finger but we have / had some GREAT musicians.

My guess since DC is pretty much a home town for ELH and her brother was in attendance plus many friends EC was at his best. It was a great show although you could tell EC's heart was most into the CW based material.

I liked it better when he played mostly rhythm and BT was doing the soloing on bass. I heard EC mention this in the HiTone DVD. He likes it better now with a true rhythm section. I have seen many of the great electric guitar players (jazz, fusion, blues, country) in action so my standards are very h...

I have it. I think he also performed I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself on the CN Box set but I am not positive.

DP has a true connection to the roots of the music. It is all about where she came from which is a very remote and scenic part of Tennesse (where Tenn, VA and NC meet). Just listen to her accent and singing / song writing style. She is the REAL deal!

I am pretty sure EC is a boxing fan. Seems like a stretch to me but you are entitled to your opinion. I think they just don't like each other (clash of egos?) and Bruce has lost interest in the music business.

Sorry to hear of the sound problems. Thought he did a pretty good job of turning things down on the last tour of the US (summer of 2003?) but appears he is back to blasting away. Just doesn't make any sense to me especially when they are capable of better.

Watch Your Step is GREAT. I really like the way he sings that song too. I would like to hear more of that laid back vocal style (not over singing). You don't hear that much from EC. In fact I am not sure if there is another one in that vocal style.

Regarding Soul

Check 'Lost Someone' by Jame Brown or any other JB soul ballad (Prisoner of Love, Bewildered, ect) from that time period. Unbelievable stuff but not for the faint of heart. LOL!

Actually this song (without LW) is the highlight of the Austin City Limits show. It really comes across as a live song and is much better without LW.
